English Language and Literature tutors in Gauteng

I have been tutoring English for over ten years, and have found a fun and novel way to approach the subject. I beleive that tutoring should be tailored to each student and help them become interested in the subject they are learning.

I have studied First Language English at a private all-girls school from grade 0 through to grade 12. I studied English Literature for 4 years throughout university as it was one of my major subjects for my Bachelor's degree. I am trained as an English as a foreign language teacher and have taught children in Thailand for over a year. I also have online teaching and tutoring experience with children as well as adults. I am currently studying for a Post Graduate Certificate in Education online.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Linguistics and English Literature, as well as a Post Graduate Certificate in Education specialising in teaching English as a first and a First Additional Language. As well as over 5 years experience teaching ages ranging from 5-22, and experience teaching students with absolutely no proficiency in English (second language users in China) to students at first year University level (first year linguistics students at the University Currently Known as Rhodes).

I am passionate about English literature and have good language skills. I have done very well in English at high school and at university. In matric I received the prize for English and for Advanced Programme English. I received the Rogier Courau Prize for second year English at the University of the Witwatersrand. I also placed twelfth in the English Olympiad in 2014. I love to pass on my passion for English and will go beyond expectations to provide an enriching learning experience.

I achieved top marks for English in High School and it was one of my favourite subjects. My English teacher thought I had potential as a writer...I'm still working on it. I am very passionate about literacy and I love reading. I am fluent in English and I have a neutral accent. I can help you stay interested and motivated!

I am an English native speaker and I have studied English in University. In addition to this I have my TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) qualification. I have taught English in Spain to adults and children at all levels.
