English Language and Literature tutors in Centurion

I got a distinction in English in Grade 12 and have experience in tutoring English. I am patient and will re-explain until the learner understands the work. I love reading and always give my all in everything I do. I completed my Postgraduate Certificate in Education in 2019.

I love languages and have a great passion for it. I have experience in English Grade 4 -7, as I have been teaching English for the past 7 years. I enjoy reading books, and therefore Literature is where I am able to share my love for reading you.

As intimidating as English appears I am Currently studying towards becoming a professional teacher, English is one of my elective majors which qualifies me to teach the Subject as a Home Language or First and Second Additional Language.

I have taught first year English students before and the feedback I received from the Head of Department as well as the students themselves was phenomenal. There is so much joy in helping someone gain clarity in areas they had previously struggled with and this means that tutoring is a partnership where both the student and the tutor can benefit.

- I am incredibly passionate about English - I achieved distinctions throughout my school career (Matriculated with an average of 87% for English home language) - I also achieved distinctions at University level for English. - I have been an English tutor for the past two and a half years - I am extremenly familiar with the IEB syllabus and will therefore be able to assist you in your preparation for paper 1 & 2.

The English language and its writing are filled with wonder and beauty that most fail to see, of which I take pride in imparting my knowledge so that one can share the same appreciation. I have worked with many students in the past in correcting their mistakes and allowing for a deeper understanding of their setwork. I have experience in educating the subject matter in all fields of education and thus understand the level of work that is needed.

Language is not purely for communication and expression, but also an art form. Understanding how to use and interpret it correctly will open a world of possibilities and freedom. I can offer students basic skills in reading, writing and speaking to more advanced levels of understanding, interpretation and creation.

My first language is English, I was raised in English. Attended an IEB English school. Also was a nerd and did AP English in grade 10 and grade 11. I would like to help you grasp English to the best of your abilities.

While completing my BCom (Law) and LLB degrees, I learnt a lot about myself and the fact that I was invited to join the Golden Key Society, as well as appearing on the Dean’s List of Merit and achieving the highest marks for Sports Law 420 and Cyber Law 420, greatly reinforced my belief that I can achieve anything I set my mind to. I can also proudly say that I have been admitted as an attorney in January of last year after completing a year of articles and 6 months of evening classes for law school. It took a lot of dedication and long hours and it was indeed tiring; however, it has been worth it in the end. It had brought me closer to accomplishing my dream of being an attorney. I am also currently completing my master’s degree at the University of Pretoria, specialising in Consumer Protection, as I am passionate about the law and helping others. I therefore believe that I have the duty to impart my knowledge and skills to future generations of law students.

Over the past 20 years I have worked in a variety of teaching environments, form formal education to corporate training, online educational programmes, tutoring and extra mural classes. I have a BA Drama from the University of Pretoria and completed additional modules at Unisa for non-degree purposes on Literature. I am passionate about improving the lives of learners through education and started a small NGO to accommodate programmes I am already involved in as well as create opportunities for more projects on literacy etc.
