English is a very fun subject. It is my second spoken language and also one of my strong subjects. I enjoyed my English periods during high school, and would love to learn and help people what I did.

I have always enjoyed English and I enjoy it so much that I chose to take English as a study subject in University. I am a big reader and am always intrigued by the English language and am always eager to learn. I wish to make English a fun and enjoyable subject to learn and aim to make it easy and an interesting experience.

I was one of the top English students at my school, St John's, achieving an 89% in my matric exams. I also placed 10th in the national English Olympiad, in which nearly 6000 students competed. I have a knack for understanding and explaining literature, particularly poetry and Shakespeare. I am also currently studying literature at UP.

I have a proven track record of academic accomplishment, having received distinctions all the way from matric to Masters level at University. I am also an experienced teacher and academic tutor. English language and literature count high among my passions and I love to share it with learners. We quite literally live in the languages that we think, talk and write in. The world is only available to us as a series of concepts. Only that, which has been named, exists for us. This is why the mastery of a language is so empowering. It quite literally gives us a higher resolution access to reality. The better one's command of language, the fuller and richer one's experience of the world. As such, it is worth the effort of mastering it. Literature has a lot to say about what it is like to be human and what it all means. It does not matter what you end up doing with your life, sooner or later you will end up grappling with the big issues. E.g., is life worth living and if so, why? What is a good life? Are we all ultimately alone? Is love real or is it an illusion? What motivates people to do good or bad things? People have always grappled with these kinds of questions. Literature offers the key to a rich world of human thought and reflection. It is a resource that you can always draw on as you try to make sense of your own experiences. Literature confirms that as far as the human journey through life is concerned, you are never alone. So let's explore together!

I work as an assistant lecturer for the university, teaching students every day. I have a good knowledge of practical skills as well as on many texts. I am an avid reader and an enthusiastic tutor with a passion for making English fun and relatable.

I can teach English and English literature up until a Grade 12 level. I have taken pure English for two years at university level. I take English methodologies at university which teach me the best ways to teach English.

I major in English. I have studied the history and fundamental aspects of the English language. In my time at University I have learnt how to analyse all sorts of literature and the proper use of language.

I have passed my subjects on University level in English. I have a great love for the language and it's contents. Together with the student I hope to expand not only their knowledge but my own. One is never too old to learn and relearn the quality of a language.

I am an English native speaker as I was raised in a household where we spoke strictly English. I have also been an A student in English my entire life. I started reading at the age of three. Even though I can communicate in other native languages too, English was the language I’ve spoken my entire life.
