English Language and Literature tutors in Gauteng

I'm a patient and kind teacher, who in high school received above 85% for both English literature and language, as well as for Advanced Programme English. I am passionate about storytelling, writing, and reading - all of which are both hobbies and skills that can be taught, which is where I come in.

Throughout my studies, I have needed to write many written works. All these pieces requires a certain level of understanding, not only of the course work, but of the English language, to correctly portray the information and concepts, and of interpreting and understanding literature.

As a Geologist I am required to write and communicate in very fluent English with clients and colleagues. I obtained an A for English in my Matric year. I am passionate about the English language and believe that everyone should be proficient in the language as it is the business language and is used all across the world as a medium of communication.

I am passionate about language and have achieved distinctions in English throughout my high school career. I am proficient in grammar, creative writing, formal writing, essays, comprehension skills, orals, visual literacy and poetry.

I have always enjoyed English and learning about the various rules and exceptions that the language has. I pride myself on knowing correct spelling and punctuation. I realise it can be difficult to learn all the various exceptions and rules but I feel like I could make that easier due to my love of the language.

I am currently studying a bachelor of education, majoring in English. I believe my passion for English improves students' learning experience, and by extension their understanding, knowledge and verbal skills in English.

I excelled at English in Highschool. I also completed the IEB Advanced English course and am currently studying first-year English at Wits. All of these have equipped me with the tools to manipulate and critically analyse English in both the literary and language aspects. I feel I would be the ideal tutor to pass these skills on.

- I am incredibly passionate about English - I achieved distinctions throughout my school career (Matriculated with an average of 87% for English home language) - I also achieved distinctions at University level for English. - I have been an English tutor for the past two and a half years - I am extremenly familiar with the IEB syllabus and will therefore be able to assist you in your preparation for paper 1 & 2.

I have been an online teacher for 10 years and my student's have ranged from 3 years of age all the way up to 89! I have taught English to a wide variety of nationalities including Chinese, Taiwanese, Japanese and lots of European students. I have a TEFL and TEYL qualification and I can teach pretty much ANY English topic. Please note: I do have a fairly strong American accent.

English is my first language and I achieved high marks in this subject throughout my whole school career. I can also speak afrikaans fluently which means I can teach afrikaans individuals in their home language if this is their preference. I have still kept all my IEB English portfolios with past speeches, tests, exams, literature works and assessments as a whole. I am willing to share these resources which will provide high school students with a credible grade 12 year end portfolio for English moderation without all the hassles of compiling one from scratch. I am happy to tutor people of all ages, gender identities and ethnicities.
