I have a thorough understanding of the way that English is tested at a high school level and thus understand what is expected of the learner. I achieved a distinction in English Home Language at an IEB level in high school and have a good baseline knowledge in English literature works such as Othello, Antony and Cleopatra, The Crucible, To Kill a Mockingbird, The Great Gatsby and Americanah. My current university course is a writing intensive course and therefore I have an advanced essay writing capability and could offer good pointers on how to write a good essay and lay the groundwork for solid essay writing in the future.

I have a very deep understanding of first-language British English and a passion for it. I am a first-language British English speaker, have read widely and have a high level of knowledge about English literature. I also have many years of experience tutoring English.

Having spent the last 3. 5 years studying towards being a foundation phase teacher, we have gone into great detail about how to teach to young children in a way that they understand. We have been taught to identify a child personality and learning style and given practical ways to teach each child. I also have experience in tutoring and teaching.

I believe I will be the best because I have a lot of experience and have learnt a lot from it. I have always been good at English and never struggled with it. I love the language. I am an avid reader and have been this way from a young age. I have taught learners at a private school and at school where English was their 2nd language. When I taught learners these learners their English progressed dramatically. Some learners could not write a full sentence in the beginning and by the end of the year they were writing full stories. I have taught English to grade R to grade 3. I have also tutored a grade 8 learner for English. I am kind, caring and put the learner first and teach in way that suits them and that they they will understand. I am passionate about teaching and believe that learners have endless potential. I am patient. I have endless time for learners and I am always willing to put in the extra effort.

I have an excellent command of the English language and am able to impart valuable tips and tricks on how to achieve great results in standardised testing. I can especially help with essay writing and literature, which are two of the most sorely misunderstood parts of the subject.

I achieved 88% for both English Home language and AP English at IEB Matric level. I love the language, and can teach it exceptionally well. My English literature, grammar and writing level is very high, and I can communicate with young people very effectively. I feel I can get through to students at a one-on-one level.

I am a lover of languages and have always believed it to be one of the mostly important aspects of any education. I am educated up until 3rd year university to teach English language. I have been teaching at my local high school for the past 3 years.

Firstly, my teaching philosophy is to minimise the students weaknesses and teach to the students strengths. I have the skillset to identify the types of learning styles the student has and to be able to present information in a way that has the greatest effect. my main goal in tutoring is to build confidence in the student and to enhance their study skills and overall performance. I know I will be able to do this because I am a compassionate person and I am able to build a good rapport with the student. I am also empathetic, non-judgemental, enthusiastic, a good listener and most of all, patient. I am passionate about this particular subject at a primary school level and I have extensive knowledge that I would like to share to the student. In addition, I do have experience in teaching English because I have obtained my TEFL certifcation and I am fluent in the language, that is why I will be the perfect candidate.

I am very passionate about the English language. I find learners sometimes need a little extra help to achieve the best results. My study methods and techniques allow children to understand and apply their knowledge. I inspire confidence and provide support for any of my students.
