General Maths & Science tutors near me

I have experience in teaching this subject with a focus on breaking the work down into the basics. The most important part is to practice general equations and calculations and to work on solving the problem at hand.

I got distinctions in high school mathematics and science and distinctions for my mathematics modules in first year university. I thoroughly understand the work and am able to explain it well. I'm good at tutoring in one-on-one situations.

I did very well at Maths and Science in school and finished Matric with 95% for both the NSC Maths and Physical Science exams. I would feel comfortable helping students understand these subjects. I have also been a private tutor for high school students before and tutored Maths and Physics extensively all the way until Matric.

I was never great at Mathematics when I was in school. I eventually dropped it in Gr9. When I started studying for you degree I majored in Maths. I didn't want to miss a subject because I didn't do it at school. I did the subject and loved it. Its easy once it gets explained to you in the way you understand it. Science is great. It's interesting, amazing and mind blowing. It teaches you so much about the world, chemicals, animals etc that you would have learnt in general.

Considering that I have a degree in Mechanical Engineering and currently working in the Financial sector, I have a deep knowledge for Mathematics across the board. I have knowledge in pure mathematics, calculus, algebra, etc

Maths and science are the subjects I'm most passionate about. I think the content so much more interesting when you fully understand it and it has meaning. I have plenty of experience tutoring high school level especially.

I am an Industrial and Systems Engineer by profession. I completed with above-average grades over 96credits worth of mathematics credits over 4 years of my degree. I also did Ordinary level math (A grade) and Advanced level high school math (B). I have also applied various mathematical models and concepts in my profession as an engineer.

I enjoy focusing on the adverse skills that students develop from the subject but also to assist in filling in the knowledge gaps that many students lack because of having missed foundational parts of their learning in these subjects which has slowed down their progression.

At school I excelled at subjects which needed understanding and not just memorizing facts. I therefore excelled at science and maths as I understood them. Once one understands these subjects, the "trying to memorize everything" part before a test falls away and is replaced with practice and understanding the basic principles and building on that.
