I have been a tutor for 6 years. I have tutored in subjects like Mathematics, English, Afrikaans, history and business studies. I have tutored grades 2,4,8,10 and 11. I have also tutored students with learning disabilities such as ADHD, dyslexia and Autism Spectrum Disorder. I thoroughly enjoy being a tutor because I loved school and I am currently studying to be a special education teacher.

Au Pair
I looked after a set of quadruplets. I would wake the children up, get breakfast ready for them and get them ready for school. I would then walk them to school and be free for the day until I had to go pick them up. Once I picked them up from school, I would go through their homework books to see what we had to do while they had a snack. I then did homework with them. Once that was done I would make dinner, then clean up and drive them to whatever extracurricular activity they had that day. We would then get home and they’d have another snack before getting ready for bed. Once they were asleep I was done for the day.

My younger brother struggled for most of his early school life with mathematics so I took it upon myself to help make it fun for him instead of frustrating. I was able to simplify methods and help him better understand the concepts in math and he did so much better. I then started tutoring other high school students in Pure Mathematics. I have 4 years experience

History
I have had a fascination with major historic events since I was a pre-teen and this took history in high school. It was the one subject I had complete confidence in getting an A because it was so interesting to go back in time and realize how far we’ve come. I started tutoring kids in my classes because I grasp concepts very easily and I am able to explain and breakdown tough topics. I started my tutoring in history when I was in grade 10 and thus have 6 years experience.

I have been an avid reader since I was very young so I naturally found English as a subject to be so fun and easy. I find myself picking up grammatical errors when reading anything from menus to books. I love making learning English fun for students so they want to learn instead of it feeling like they’re forced to do so.

Special Needs Help
I have 5 years experience with tutoring and helping kids with different needs. I was an au pair In USA for two years to a set of quadruplets, of which two has Autism Spectrum Disorder. I also helped tutor a student with Dyslexia and severe anxiety, as well as two more students with Autism.
