In high school, I was a mathematics tutor in the afternoons and I received a distinction for the subject in matric. During the course of my BSc Civil engineering degree, I have enrolled in university mathematics subjects and continue to use the skills regularly.

I have always loved maths and I was fortunate to have best teachers since primary. And I have realised that my daughter struggled with maths up until I stepped in. She struggled not because she was stupid but she struggled because the teacher made maths seem harder. I simplified it for her and she started to excel, she even helped other students as well. Mathematics is not at all complicated, there is a way to help students understand maths concepts and I know the way to assist.

I have an understanding of the subject and I am able to teach it logically and comprehensively. I have prior experience when it comes to teaching the subject. I understand most of the challenges that learners face with it and I am able to work around them to deliver results.

Because I have mastered the subject from High school to Tertiary, and still using the concepts at work today Mathematics is one of my specialist on a daily basis. I enjoy mathematics and working with numbers.

I am the best tutor for this subject because I, myself, as a child, struggled with mathematics and it took me many years to understand the basics that I had missed in my younger school years. But now, I am proud to say, I have a Honors degree in Mathematics from the University of Pretoria as well as 3 years teaching experience. I believe I am best equipped for this position because I take the time to identify where a child has missed a step, process or link in their mathematics knowledge. So that I can pinpoint the problem and help my student overcome it.

I have a strong passion for mathematics as I believe that mathematics is useful for everything in life. I have studied pure mathematics throughout my primary school and high school career. I almost obtained a distinction for pure mathematics in Matric in 2014. Although mathematics is challenging, I know that with practice, dedication and a tenacious spirit - one can achieve his/her academic goals and I would love to assist a student in reaching that goal. I have tutored many students in Mathematics and all students have passed the subject and moved on to the next grade.

I love working with numbers and I’ve achieved a distinction in this subject in my matric results. Mathematics needs someone who is creative and quick in problem solving. I also understand the struggles that learners encounter as I’ve also been through the same.

I loved mathematics when I was in Matric and became one of my best subjects in high school. It wasn't always easy though because I also struggled with it a lot until I got extra help to fully understand the concepts. I have a lot of patience when it comes to helping others understand a concept and I won't stop trying until you fully grasp the concepts.
