I have been tutoring Mathematics for 9 years and am familiar with the requirements for both IEB and GDE according the CAPS outlines. It was my favorite subject at school and University, and I have been teaching mathematics for over ten years inside the classroom and in tutoring sessions. I'm an engineer and MBA graduate, completed various mathematical related subjects. Im highly analytical and technical. Ten years of experience giving extra lessons in maths . Extra lessons are given to highschool students(IEB and government course work) and university students. I strongly believe, specifically for maths extra lessons, that practising past papers is the key to achieving a distinction. I am kind and very patient when teaching my students. We go over a few examples in the textbook and then for exams/tests we move onto past papers in order to tackle exactly what can be expected from the student in an exam/test situation. My explanations are very clear and I explain how to tackle the problems in a clear and concise manner.

For as long as I can remember, i have always loved mathematics as a subject. I love being able to help and guide students to figure out complex problems and in turn gain confidence and hopefully a love for the subject.

I love numbers. I enjoy working with numbers. Because I have a love for reading, I develop a story from just numbers. Mathematics is crucial in every students career and helps broaden the horizons enabling the student to pursue his or her dream career.

I’m a little maths nerd. I’ve never not received a distinction in mathematics. I have gone to semi finals for maths Olympiad in grade 9. I did advanced maths grade 10 to grade 12. I completed first year university maths. Also, my sister struggled with maths and I’m really good at explaining. I have had mathematics in high school and university so far. The mathematical modules that I have passed so far include calculus, mathematical modelling, numerical analysis, general mathematics, linear Algebra, multi-variable calculus and actuarial/financial mathematics. As mentioned in my bio, I am completing a BSc Actuarial and Financial Mathematics degree at the University of Pretoria. Studies in actuarial science and mathematical statistics degrees are built on an academic basis of mathematics, statistics, analysis, and financial management.
