I have taught English both within South Africa and abroad. I am qualified Tefl and Tesol teacher and I have more than 5 years experience in teaching this subject. I Enjoy teaching teaching as we focus on Spoken work, literary work and writing in English therefore covering all basics and structures of this beautiful language

I am passionate about helping learners grow and develop a great understanding in reading and writing, as this is something an individual will have to carry forward with themselves for the rest of their lives. I enjoy working one on one with individuals to ensure they get all the necessary attention they need in order to understand and fully grasp the lesson.

I felt like my life needed some direction and languages have always come easy to me. In high school I decided to take French as a second language to broaden my horizons, I loved learning about a new culture and country. Learning the language was just a bonus, I feel that this experience will help me to connect with the new students, as I know exactly how they feel. Scared, excited, unsure but most of all interested to learn. It creates a great foundation for me to build on. I would love the opportunity to give someone else the opportunity that I was given and aid them wherever possible. Learning a new language, especially English, can be extremely beneficial to one’s future. I would love to help someone to create a better life for themselves and to gain an amazing experience they can carry throughout their life, if they choose. I work very well with people and I have some background in being a teacher’s assistant. This experience taught me a lot on how to coach students to be better learners and how to conduct myself professionally in the classroom. Also, I learned how to help students that struggle with the teaching material, how to be patient and how to encourage them. Above all I want this to be a positive experience for us all. I hope to teach and learn students a new skill but to enjoy it as well. Grammar and pronunciation skills are very important when learning a new language. But it can be tedious if taught under the wrong circumstances, I hope to nip this in the bud and create a fun, caring environment for students to grow and have a good time. I hope to learn from them as much as they learn from me.

My goal with tutoring is to assist and teach learners academic skills that will serve them well in school. I will partner with the learners to teach them to become independent participants in their own learning. During our time togther, skills like oraganization, task initiation, focus and time management, will be taught in order for the learners to have successfull learning experience.

I have three years' online teaching experience in the academic field and, due to my editing experience, I have a broad understanding of the different components that constitute the English language. I can teach grammar, academic writing, vocabulary/lexical aspects, different writing genres, and speaking/pronunciation in both American and British English.
