I majored in English Literature for my bachelors degree. I am absolutely passionate about the world of characters. Immersing oneself into the world of others and getting a glimpse into the mindset of the author. Literature serves as a great critique in challenging societal norms that were common in a certain era.

English Literature is really just about stories and how you interpret them. As I studied Creative Writing on postgraduate level, I am able to assist you to see beyond the letters to the spine of the story.

I am great at helping students understand complex or foreign concepts in terms of their life and experience. I enjoy talking about stories and analysing what these stories mean with a greater context. For example considering what makes Shakespeare still relevant to people today. I have a lot of experience in summarising plots and other literary analysis features which I will be happy to teach you.

My passion and in-depth understanding of the English language, more specifically English literature lead to me lecturing English literature at the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal with a 100% pass rate.

I love reading, I am extremely well read and I have incredible comprehension knowledge. I love to be transformed and transported to different worlds. I love the way a story evolves and unfolds, I would like to share my love for books and read with others.

I studied BA Law at the University of Pretoria from 2017-2019, majoring in English Literature. I received a distinction for English in first and second semester of my final year, as well as in matric. I believe I am best suited to tutor this subject because of the comprehensive knowledge and skill that I have acquired in the English language throughout the years I have had the pleasure of learning about it. I am particularly passionate about English Literature because of its personal impact on my recent life. The question isn't so much, "how much do we know about Shakespeare" but rather, "how well does Shakespeare know us?" The ability of literature to preserve itself over centuries stems from the fact that if you remove the words and punctuation, what lies at the heart of literature is human experience. And human experience is what connects us all universally, regardless of our differences. What was human experience in the 17th/18th century, remains human experience now. I made a choice to major in English Literature when I had a variety of modules to choose from. I have tutored matric students for 8 years and without exception, these students managed to improve their marks significantly, mostly because my love for the subject and my personal appproach to each individual became inspirational to them. I have 10 years experience teaching English as a First and Home Language. I have 6 years experience as the subject head of languages: moderating assessments and examination papers. I have completed various courses and training to keep up to date with changes in the system. I have been Head of Department of Educational Guidance for 2 years.

I performed very well in English during my high school, was one of the top students. I currently tutor English as an additional subject to young primary and high school learners in my community. I know all the basic skills of passing English and eventually loving it because it is such an interesting subject.

I have a passion for plays and novels as I am currently doing my BA in motion picture media and I am able to explain and guide on how to answer questions and write essays accordingly. I always got 80s for my literature essays during matric as i found a way to tell the stories through my perception.
