I worked as a teacher in a high school. I taught English language. I had to plan my lessons and go in accordance with the objectives of the curriculum. I had to take registers, set examination papers, do any marking of exams/tests related to my subject.
I specialised as an educational psychologist. My role is to primarily optimise human functioning within the context of learning and development. I any support learners who may be experiencing any barriers to learning such as emotional challenges, behavioural management and learning difficulties.
I studied my honours in Psychology which involved studying theories more in depth and deepening my analytical and critical thinking skills and being able to apply them to to pseudo cases.
I did a double major in psychology and English studies. Psychology involved an introduction to the various principles and theories currently used in psychology today both for making diagnosis and for therapeutic interventions. English studies involved studying literature from different eras in history. From the Victoria era to Enlightenment, to studying African literature as well as literature that was written during the Apartheid era in South Africa.
I majored in English Literature for my bachelors degree. I am absolutely passionate about the world of characters. Immersing oneself into the world of others and getting a glimpse into the mindset of the author. Literature serves as a great critique in challenging societal norms that were common in a certain era.

Writing is a very freeing process. It allows you to be able to be as free as you want to be and enables one to dive into any world they wish to create. It is the best form of self-expression. Writing similar to literature allows people who may not be able to express themselves verbally to do so in writing.
