I find pleasure in un-hooking learners where they are stuck, and I believe we can all master maths. I have the patience of being lead by the student's pace. My students' needs are my priority. Unlike teachers, I do not have the pressure to complete the curriculum, hence my focus is building conceptual understanding.

I have been basically doing mathematics for most of my life. I got a level 6 in my matric year and in university I was able to do calculus, numerical methods and linear algebra. I also got a level 6 in physical sciences and continued to do physical science at university level.

I obtained distinctions in both my math and science in high school. I proceeded with it to tertiary, i have vast knowledge in the subjects. I love math and science and I have the patience to teach it.

I have an honors degree in industrial engineering. I have done maths and science as part of my degree. In my first and second year, science and maths were one of my major courses. Throughout my career, I used science and maths.

I have a degree in civil engineering, and therefore have an expansive experience with this subject. Subjects that i covered were engineering maths (which is a heavy focus on calculus), applied mathematics (which is a mixture of static and dynamic physics) and basic chemistry on a university level, in addition to my engineering subjects. I have also taught Cambridge mathematics at a high school for a year.

I had Chemistry, Physics and Maths up to first year level of University and Geography up to my final year (I have a B.Sc. Geography Degree). I have experience in educating various age groups (from pre-schoolers to adults) on Science, through my work at the University of Pretoria's Science Centre, the Sci- Enza.

I am currently doing engineering at Wits university and maths and science are core disciplines in my field. I understand the way the material progresses and from that I have taken the time to work what the best way to teach it is. The problem that many students starting out have with mathematics is that there is no fundamental understanding of mathematical concepts, while many educators would argue that high school math is an abstract concept in nature this is not the case. Algebra, geometry and simple mathematics operations are simple concepts when taught in a way the student understands. I aim to bring about this understanding and this, combined with my easy summaries which I share with my students makes achieving their academic goals become something which is easily reachable. Science is inherently the same and is built on a sound foundation which comes from the explanation of basics which teachers sometime fail to mention but make all the difference. I have identified these areas and with this knowledge excelled in both Physics and Biology myself.
