Mathematics is all about confidence and the more you practice the better you get. It is so important that you establish a solid foundation in the Primary School so that you are able to build on that foundation when you get to the Secondary School. Your teacher needs to be able to explain concepts to you and scaffold your learning so as to build on your strengths. He or she needs to allow you opportunities to build your confidence and help you to enjoy Mathematics. I have been teaching Mathematics up to Grade 9 level for over 30 years and I therefore know the syllabus and I also have a good idea of the sections where the learners might struggle.

I received an A for Mathematics in every year of my school career, and grew up in a family of mathematicians, on my father's side. Maths has always fascinated me as a subject that is connected to the world around us in a unique way. Teaching skills of conceptualisation and problem-solving is invaluable to me. I have over 5 years of maths tutoring experience.

I thoroughly enjoyed mathematics all throughout high-and-primary school and held Maths as a subject during my undergraduate degree. Further, my MSc in Computational Systems Biology was highly mathematical. Maths, in my eyes, is the language of the universe.

I love challenges. I performed extremely well in Mathematics because I learned how to break down complex processes into simpler steps. This especially helped me in primary school and I am sure that I can help any child adapt to a way of learning that suits them.

I am currently doing my Master's degree in Chemical Engineering at UCT. I have been tutoring high school mathematics since 2015. I matriculated in 2014 with 7 A's and 97% for maths. I have experience tutoring from grade 1 to 12, and I have tutored CAPS, IEB and Cambridge (IGSCE, AS/A level, etc.).

I was able to achieve distinctions for mathematics throughout my high school and university career. For my engineering degree we had to do two years of extensive mathematics and also continued to apply it in our electronic modules.

I am very patient, something I think is essential when teaching maths as it can be incredibly tricky and require a lot of repetition and re-explaining of concepts. I have tutored maths to primary school students before. I love to find ways to make what is often a troubling subject into something enjoyable and manageable! I am patient and dedicated and very positive!

I have always enjoyed Mathematics, and did Maths FET as well as Advance Program Maths under the IEB curriculum. I have taught various students throughout my 4 years working experience, and have achieved excellent results.

I am currently pursuing a degree which makes use of a lot of maths so my mathematics skills are up to scratch. I really enjoyed maths in school and believe that everyone has the ability to grasp mathematics, they just need to be taught at from the right angle, one that pertains to them.
