I have 3 years of experience in teaching Foundation Phase learners at a private school. I enjoy doing Maths with the kids and love seeing learners succeed in what they were struggling with. I am very patient and believe that I can be an asset to any child with struggles.

Maths was always my passion at school. When I didn’t want to do school work, I would do maths papers because to me it didn’t seem like studying. I understand that the key to doing well at maths is to nail the essentials. It is imperative to build on from the basics with critical reasoning and problem solving skills.

I have over four years of experience teaching Mathematics in various schools and institutes. I am very familiar with the Mathematics curriculum at Primary School level and I know what students generally tend to struggle with. I am patient and encouraging and love to see my students gain confidence in their abilities.

I have experience in CAPS and home schooling. A Grade 3 student once came to me who had failed her Maths the previous year, and by the end of the year, she passed her Maths with really good marks! And a Grade 4 Maths student of mine has improved her marks by 30%!

I received a distinction for mathematics in school (IEB). My maths intensive university degree has allowed me to stay up to date with the level of maths taught in high school. I have always enjoyed dealing with numbers and have a passion to teach others how to enjoy maths too.

I am passionate about the opportunities that are created when one understands and loves maths. I excelled in Maths at High School level, with a mid-90s exit mark. I also did AP Maths, finishing with a 71 percent mark.

I am currently studying a Bachelor of Education for Intermediate Phase Teaching at the IIE Varisty College in Rondebosh. I am now in my second year of studying and have done practical work at Curro Meridian in Pinehurst.

Mathematics is an essential part of any high school or university education, and it can be very enjoyable if taught correctly and with practice. I have a strong foundation in Maths having studied it throughout High School and University, and I consistently received A marks. I am able to tutor from basic understandings to more complex problems!

Teaching in the Foundation Phase of Primary schools has given me the experience needed to best assist learners between Grade R and Grade 3 to understand mathematical concepts. In a creative and engaging way, I teach a variety of Mathematical concepts that students are able to remember and apply in a variety of ways.
