I understand and appreciate the effort it takes and the difficulties involved in learning a new language. I'm passionate about teaching students every step of the way on their journey to master the English language. My love of languages has led me to study English, Xhosa, Afrikaans, and Dutch at university. I also have a diploma in teaching English as a foreign language, a valuable addition to my background in training and educating students to become fluent English speakers. My mission is to make your learning journey as stress-free and enjoyable as possible and I have lots of patience to help you along the way. I use authentic materials in my lessons (interesting news, articles, videos, and more) to make your English lessons fun and enjoyable. I encourage my students to give me topics that interest them so that I may design my lessons accordingly.

I have a BA in English Studies as well as being qualified in English Home Language/First Additional Language teaching. I am passionate about literacy skills and believe developing a love for language is vital. I have special needs experience and am trained in interventions for Language issues.

Not only do I have previous experience in teaching this subject, it is a passion of mine to teach and assist learners in understanding completeness of the subject. My methods and various ways of teaching have proven to be a game changer for students!

I am fluent in English and received an 84% average in grade 12 for English and therefore know the language very well from literature to grammar. I am confident in the language and will be able to help with any difficulties.

I have been teaching English as a second language to non native speakers and been tutoring young kids who had little to no knowledge of the language. I have first hand experience in teaching the basic phonics to kids and also business English to adults.

Having received a distinction for English in my matric year and having an avid passion for reading, allows me to believe that I know what it takes not only to improve but to excel in English. My brief tutoring experience at the beginning of the year in English saw improvements to all 5 of students I helped.

I was the top English student in my high school for my senior years, and I really enjoyed both the literature and the grammar sections (which I gather is quite rare). I'm very excited to share that passion with you! I'm also a qualified TEFL English teacher, so I am well-versed in English-teaching techniques as both a first and second language.

I enjoy speaking and writing English. Although my home language is Afrikaans, I am now fluent in English. Coming from an Afrikaans home and going to an English school I understand it can sometimes be difficult.

I have forty years work experience and I enjoy teaching Foundation Phase learners how to read, spell, write and speak. My lessons are exciting! I always ensure that my learners are engaged and that they are having fun. Learning should be fun and not boring! I pay attention to detail and I am very prepared for my lessons. I use resources to explain topics and I like to do research. I always consolidate concepts taught before testing learners.
