I have a passion for the subject. English was one of my majors during undergraduate studies and I am also currently studying to become an English and History teacher. I have experience with helping younger children learn English, since I worked overseas for 3 years. I also completed my TEFL degree, so if you are learning English as a foreign language, I will also be able to help you. It is important to me to make learning an enjoyable experience and I will do my best to help you achieve your personal goal.

Being one of my home languages and my tertiary education medium, I am well versed and feel comfortable conducting myself in any environment in this language. I truly enjoy both the language and literature aspects of the language and will help you navigate all the pitfalls and tricks that need to be mastered. English HL (NSC: 83%)

I am an avid reader and a native English speaker. I have experience in teaching many facets of the English Language. These include literature, reading, spelling, writing, grammar listening and speaking. I am eager to impart my knowledge and instill a love for the language.

I took Advanced Programme in high school and currently take English Studies at university level and so am more than qualified, however, I believe that my interest and love for English make me the perfect tutor for this subject.

I have an honours degree in journalism, which has taught me the necessary skills to become a competent teacher in the skills of writing, reading, and grammar. I also have a university major in English literature, which means I can certainly help you out with your book report.

I have taught English both as Home Language and EFL for Foundation Phase learners and in Intermediate Phase. I have training in using Jolly Phonics and have taken courses about Dyslexia to be able to better help children with learning difficulties. I love to read and use texts to teach vocabulary, phonics, reading, writing and language structure/grammar.

I understand and appreciate the effort it takes and the difficulties involved in learning a new language. I'm passionate about teaching students every step of the way on their journey to master the English language. My love of languages has led me to study English, Xhosa, Afrikaans, and Dutch at university. I also have a diploma in teaching English as a foreign language, a valuable addition to my background in training and educating students to become fluent English speakers. My mission is to make your learning journey as stress-free and enjoyable as possible and I have lots of patience to help you along the way. I use authentic materials in my lessons (interesting news, articles, videos, and more) to make your English lessons fun and enjoyable. I encourage my students to give me topics that interest them so that I may design my lessons accordingly.

Not only do I have previous experience in teaching this subject, it is a passion of mine to teach and assist learners in understanding completeness of the subject. My methods and various ways of teaching have proven to be a game changer for students!

I enjoy speaking and writing English. Although my home language is Afrikaans, I am now fluent in English. Coming from an Afrikaans home and going to an English school I understand it can sometimes be difficult.
