Retired Foundation Phase Educator
I enjoyed every moment of teaching, before I had to retire. I am a dedicated teacher and I love to teach! My learners were engaged and they enjoyed my interactive lessons. I was known as the creative teacher who came up with innovative ideas and concepts. My learners were always rewarded for their hard work and I still have learners who contact me years later. Teaching is my passion.

After my studies I became a teacher and lecturer. I enjoyed working with Foundation Phase learners and adults who were studying to become teachers.

I am an experienced Foundation Phase Educator who likes to use concrete materials, while explaining mathematical concepts. I get creative while counting, manipulating numbers, completing number patterns, playing with shapes, measuring and collecting data. My learners are engaged during my lessons and we always have fun. Revision plays an important part during the learning journey and I always consolidate topics before tests.

It is my mother tongue and I am fluent in this language. My deceased husband was a famous Afrikaans writer (George Weideman) and I can support my learners with literature, writing, reading, grammar, vocabulary and oral presentations. I pay attention to detail and will ensure that my learners achieve their goals. I make learning fun!

I use resources to explain topics and I like to do research. I always consolidate concepts taught before testing learners.
