Mathematics is one of my favourite subjects to teach and tutor. I specialise in teaching core mathematics until grade 9, and have recently had the honour to tutor matrics in mathematical literacy. I struggled with mathematics after I was absent for two weeks in grade 8 thanks to being ill. After losing that foundational knowledge, I found the rest of the content difficult to understand. It was only with the help and support of an incredible tutor that I managed to achieve a distinction in matric. Thus, I know what it's like to struggle, and I also know various ways of explaining the same concept so that students with different learning styles and paces can still excel in the subject.

I obtained a distinction in matric for mathematics. I have gone on to study chemical engineering and received a distinction for my calculus module in my first semester and passed my mathematics module in my second semester, being very close to obtaining a distinction. I perform well in and enjoy most subjects that require problem solving.

Mathematics is a subject that can be very frustrating and I will like to show you how to make it fun and easy. To build your confidence in being able to solve complicated problems. I have a degree in Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science and I would like to show you simple ways of solving problems.

I have always enjoyed this subject in high School and University. It comes easy to me because I make it fun to learn and understand. I am patient and simplify the complex ideas and methods to solve the problem.

Maths has always been my favourite subject as well as my specialisation subject at University. I love teaching maths and promise to make it fun and easy to remember! I always found mathematics understandable at school level and I would like to help students who dont feel the same. I know I can break down information in a way that is much easier to handle for young students. This is why I would like to tutor this subject at this specific level. I taught maths for a year to students aged 15-18. This allowed me to further my own ability to teach as it requires a lot of patience and understanding. I believe in building a trusted relationship with my students that allows them to focus on the subject that they wish to improve on.

When I was in High School I did not like Math class. I found it boring and hated the homework so I had more blank pages and doodles in my book than I could count. But I like how interconnected and experimental everything was. I liked how something I learnt in Grade 8 was built upon all the way into matric. It was only when I was in Grade 12 and my new math teacher was really great that I started to actually enjoy Maths. All of a sudden, I went from never doing my homework to only doing Math homework, because I was suddenly able to answer the questions “Why?” and “What if?” I want to help you get that same excitement for Maths that I suddenly developed, and the key to that experience lies within you. Many people do not give the phrase “practice makes perfect” enough credit. We learn by building pathways in our brains the first time we learn something, and then reinforcing them every time we practice. I want to help you build that pathway, then together we can work out what is the way to pave that pathway that suits you, as a learner, best.

Having a degree in Actuarial Science and also a career in quantitative analytics, I have extensive mathematical knowledge. I have tutoring experience and I have the desirable soft skills; patience, understanding and structure to successfully tutor this subject.
