I have many years of experience in learning mathematics at university level and teaching mathematics based on strong theoretical background as well as the application of mathematics in the real world.

I specilaised in Maths Literacy as part of my PGCE course. I then taught Maths Lit for 2 years and was involved in various materials development projects such as online assessment materials and 2 textbooks which were published by Macmillan.

I have a Master's degree in Physical sciences. One cannot be good in physics if one level of Mathematics is not solid. In addition to my curriculum, I have teaching experience of more than 3 years for undergrad students on campus.

I really enjoyed Maths Lit in High school, and scored 84% at the end of Matric. I only transitioned from Pure Maths mid-way through grade 11, so I understand the stress of trying to play catch-up. However, from my own experience and from tutoring it in the past, I have found that it is all about working methodically!

I am the best teacher for this for all the reasons listed under Mathematics but also because I believe it should be practical Mathematics rather than Mathematical Literacy and try to take away the language barrier it is often couched in. I try to make the work as real to the learner's own life as possible and make the calculations relevant and easy to follow. I do not just give recipes that the learners must follow and remember they have to understand what they are doing.

Math pure was my best subject in school, I passed matric with a 90% average. I love problem solving, I am patient and always aim to find ways in which to explain problems according to the students understanding and thought processes. I acknowledge that every student is different and adapt my tutoring accordingly.

I absolutely hated maths throughout school. It was something that never clicked for me and caused many, many tears and upset - so I get it! Then I switched to Maths Lit in Grade 10 and my perspective changed completely. You can actually enjoy maths when it's practical like maths lit is. I ended up getting my highest mark in Matric for Maths Lit, so I believe I would be able to help you. I also come from a place of patience because I completely understand how hard and frustrating maths can be.

I have experience teaching Mathematics Literacy at primary school level. I was able to help my students to understand key concepts at primary school level. Mathematics is a skill needed everyday in order to solve problems and to manage our lives.

I have a unique way of teaching Mathematical Literacy that makes it fun and easy to understand. I am patient and allow students freedom to get to know the subject. Furthermore I understand what is required of a student to do well in the subject. I have six years experience in teaching and tutoring Mathematical Literacy from grades 10 to 12.
