Everywhere we go and in everything we do we experience Maths. I believe in using the knowledge field of the learner to make them see that Maths is enjoyable and easy. Again taking it step by step and never giving up...just trying a different method until we find one that works

In my final year of High School I changed from pure Mathematics to Mathematical Literacy. There I experienced the difference a great teacher has on the attitude and performance of a class. It is due to this teacher’s influence that I have developed a love for Mathematical Literacy. I believe there is a great misconception about Mathematical Literacy as a subject. People, more often than not, say it is an easier form of pure Mathematics. That is not the case – in reality these subjects are very different from each other. Comparing these two subjects is equivalent to saying chickens and penguins are the same because both are birds. I enjoy teaching all aspects of Mathematical Literacy. One of the things I like most about the subject, is that the content you learn can be directly implemented in the real world. I aim to make each and every lesson fun, interactive and practical.

You won't need any more help after you're done with me. I will help you pass this subject within a very short amount of time, and once we're done you will be able to use what you've learnt rather then waste time learning methods that you will forget. Let me show you why we study this.

I am passionate, but also have the patience necessary for teaching math. i love to share my knowledge and my greatest thing i wish to see is a learner excelling and reaching his/her full potential. . I also make sure that before every session I am up to date and know the content well. As I am studying to be a FET teacher at this moment mathematics literacy is one of my teaching specializations so you can be rest assured I am fully capable and knowledgeable regarding subject area.

Maths lit is all about applying logic and reasoning. I feel I could help break down the language used in maths lit to assist you in developing the skills you would need to apply logic and reasoning to confront the problems.

I have self taught maths literacy and I have helped a number of matric learners to learn it. I find Maths Literacy as an easy to understand subject and I have a self prepared set of notes that I am willing to share with the students I tutor

I've been studying engineering at Stellenbosch university for 4 years now and my knowledge of Mathematics is well developed. On top of that, my tutoring experience makes me very capable of passing my knowledge off to you!

With the exposure I have had, I've been able to expand on key characteristics such as patience, empathy, understanding and care which enables me to be a great tutor. I believe tutoring should be tailored to the specific student and I have become adept in identifying the best means for a student to achieve a deep understanding of the work/subject at hand. I would also consider myself to be quite relatable and I would always ensure that the student is comfortable and confident to participate in lessons and to work towards any goals that are set.

I understand the importance of this subject and understand that it requires a particular understanding and explaining. This subject, amongst others, was one that I majored in whilst competing my Bachelors in Education.
