I am very patient, something I think is essential when teaching maths as it can be incredibly tricky and require a lot of repetition and re-explaining of concepts. I have tutored maths before. I love to find ways to make what is often a troubling subject into something enjoyable and manageable! I am patient and dedicated and very positive! I achieved a distinction for mathematics in high school as well as in my first year at university.

I studied a BSc in human physiology which gave me a base of university mathematics, which I further pursued into Gr.10-12 mathematical literacy teaching during my Postgraduate Certificate in Education. I am passionate about making mathematics as simple as possible for learners, summaries of theory concepts are definitely my strong point.

I have over four years of experience teaching Mathematics in various schools and institutes. I am very familiar with the Maths Literacy curriculum at HighSchool level and I know what students generally tend to struggle with. I am patient and encouraging and love to see my students gain confidence in their abilities.

Growing up I struggled with Math, especially in High School. The biggest challenge was not being able to grasp concepts and formulas; my Math teachers just couldn't explain Mathematics in a way that I could understand. Once I started studying at University, all the lights went on and I finally understood. I have now successfully taught Mathematics for the past 5 years and have devised clever-to- understand learning methods that make Mathematics fun and achievable. I realise that every child learns uniquely and everyone understands differently. My tutoring techniques are adapted to your learning style. I have a passion for Mathematics hence why I did a degree in Mechanical Engineering. This has always been my greatest strength and I have also tutored this subject during my undergraduate studies. I believe that I will be of great assistance to the students for them to achieve good results in this subject.

I love solving problems and enjoy helping others do the same. Fundamental Maths is a requirement for many qualifications especially occupational studies and career development courses. I have experience and I love sharing my knowledge. I'm very patient and don't mind explaining until you feel comfortable with the work. I worked at Master Maths for four years and was trained to work with kids and college students.

I achieved 88, 88 and 95 for 1st, 2nd and 3rd year mathematics at UCT, with the class medal for 3rd year. I have extensive experience tutoring maths at a first year level. I am a patient, enthusiastic tutor and I am happy to tutor maths at any high school level as well. I was course tutor for a UCT maths course designed for non-mathematical disciplines, so I have experience tutoring students who are not confident in their mathematical skills.

Numbers scare most learners because of the general misconception that they are tricky and hard. As a tutor I have had time to play around with this area inorder to make it easy and enjoyable to learners.

Mathematics can help us in our daily lives and thus the importance of Maths literacy. Mathematics has always been a favourite and can tutor that very well. When it comes to mathematics it's just the same as body exercise; the more one keeps on practising, the better they become
