I have a passion for maths , maths is a subject that requires a skill of practicing and basic understanding of rules , I aim to explain concepts in different ways in order for the student to gain a full understanding of concepts which they might struggle with.

I am very patient, something I think is essential when teaching maths as it can be incredibly tricky and require a lot of repetition and re-explaining of concepts. I have tutored maths before. I love to find ways to make what is often a troubling subject into something enjoyable and manageable! I am patient and dedicated and very positive! I achieved a distinction for mathematics in high school as well as in my first year at university.

Throughout my primary school yers I have never gotten a grade that was lower than a B. I believe I can help learners to grow and understand Mathematics. On a personal lever I enjoy mathematics and I believe that having a tutor who is passionate about what they teach, plays an important role towards the student.

I studied a BSc in human physiology which gave me a base of university mathematics, which I further pursued into Gr.10-12 mathematical literacy teaching during my Postgraduate Certificate in Education. I am passionate about making mathematics as simple as possible for learners, summaries of theory concepts are definitely my strong point.

I have over four years of experience teaching Mathematics in various schools and institutes. I am very familiar with the Maths Literacy curriculum at HighSchool level and I know what students generally tend to struggle with. I am patient and encouraging and love to see my students gain confidence in their abilities.

Because I gave this subject for Gr.10’s. I had no learners that failed my term that I gave the subject. I had pure mathematics in High School and we did Mathematics in my degree. I enjoy teaching mathematics.

Because I know what I am doing. I am passionate about my subject and consider myself very knowledgeable in my subject. I have marked numerous matric papers and know exactly what is expected and how it is asked.

I had maths lit when I was in school and I did best in my class. For me it is easy if you understand it. I am great at teaching maths and will help you pass. I obtained a distinction for maths lit in grade 12

I passed maths in GR-12 with 78% and related best performer award given to recognise my hard work @High school 2005. I passed both Calculus, Calculus & linear algebra during my BSc undergraduate degree in 2007. I also personally taught extra-class in both Calculus and linear algebra in 2008-2009 to help student pass it as they battled in to graduate then. I specialized with maths also in my PGCE at Unisa.

Math literacy is an extremely easy subject once you understand the basics. I have a full grasp of all aspects of Math Literacy and believe anyone can do it if they have the will to. For most the subject’s easy, but for some who don’t have it that easy it’s okay to get help from someone. I don’t judge people for their shortcomings when something is suspected to be done easily and correctly.
