I’m 20 years old, so I believe my age will allow for students to be more comfortable with me. I don’t want to have a strict ambience when we have our sessions. I want them to be very comfortable and for them to feel like they have a tutoring session with a friend. This will allow for us to be able to work very well with each other.

Throughout my high school career, I found that as much as I learnt during class time, a fair amount of my learning involved going over the work again and practising answering questions. Unfortunately, this wasn't always easy and there were times I felt as though I couldn't reconcile what we did in class and the work I was doing alone. This was where tutors and extra lessons came in. I found that the help of my teachers and fellow students not only helped me do better, it also opened my mind to new and more effective ways of interacting with material. As a tutor, I want to help others in the same way that I was helped: by helping fellow students to better understand their work and to figure out and improve on what works best for them in their studying. I aim to be the kind of tutor who is open to criticism; knowing that students and tutors learn from each other and improve together.

I have a Bachelors degree in Life and Environmental Sciences as well as a TEFL certificate. I have been an online English tutor for over a year and have grown to love it immensely as I am a patient individual and it has strengthened my interpersonal skills and classroom management skills.
