However teaching and helping people has always been a passion of mine and tutoring as an avenue to achieve that has captured my interest. It is also a position I relate to personally as I required tutoring for Physical Science and Afrikaans in school and I can definitely say that without it I would not have achieved my academic goals and not been able to get my BSc in Interior Architecture from the University of Pretoria. As a PhD student I investigate the ecology and genetics of mole-rats and learn new statistical techniques to apply better analyses. I have a MSc degree in Ecology and Conservation biology and did a BSc in general biology including plant science, evolutionary biology, microbiology, immunology and neurology. In my free time I write fiction and compose songs with my E-guitar.

I am currently a third year chemical engineering student at the University of Pretoria. I reside in a residence on campus named Huis Jasmyn but originally come from a very small town in the Freestate called Clarens. I have been in a residence since I started high school and have always helped my friends with whatever maths and science they struggled with. I have served on our residences committee and have been a mentor at Huis Jasmyn for the last two years-I have thoroughly enjoyed helping people and assisting them with overcoming obstacles that they thought they would never overcome.
