I am a friendly and positive person, with a good sense of humor but I'm also patient and easygoing when it comes to lessons and explaining content. I love to encourage and help people, especially when it comes to studying, as education is something I'm passionate about. I'm currently an MSc student (2022) at the University of Pretoria, specializing in Science Education. I did my undergraduate degree in BSc Ecology (2018) and my honours degree in Plant Science (2019), and have a love for biology, nature and the outdoors. I am also currently completing my PGCE diploma at Stadio and hope to be a full-time teacher. I had Physical Sciences, Maths, Life Sciences, and Geography as subjects at school, along with English (HL) and Afrikaans (FAL).

I have been involved as a tutor for first-year students at the University of Pretoria for the last 3 years. I tutor first-year Plant Sciences and Molecular Cell Biology. I help students with content both one-on-one and in a group context. I also deal with admin such as setting tests and tutorial worksheets.

BSc (Hons) Plant Science - University of Pretoria
During my honours degree I had modules that dealt with Statistics, Spatial Analysis, Ecology, Land Reclamation and Restoration as well as Forest Management. My mini dissertation dealt with a more educational approach to Plant Sciences, looking at the phenomenon known as "Plant Blindness" in South African schools, in the form of a case study.
BSc Ecology - University of Pretoria
I completed my degree in the required amount of time of 3 years. My subjects included Genetics and Microbiology to a second year level and Zoology and Plant Sciences to a third year level. I also had modules on Plant Pathology, Geology, Soil Science and Biochemistry.

I received a distinction for Geography in matric. Some of my modules at university level included aspects of school geography such as geology and map work. My map work skills are good and I have a good understanding of the social science aspect of the subject as well.

I speak fluent Afrikaans and have since a young age. I received a distinction for Afrikaans (First Additional Language) in matric. My close friend group is mainly Afrikaans speaking and therefore I am well practiced in the language.
