Hello! I'm a qualified English Language Teacher / Chinese Language Teacher. I have a Master's Degree in Second Language Studies and a CELTA qualification. I have taught English in Italy, South Africa and China. I can prepare students for Cambridge Examinations, IELTS and Business English examinations. I also speak fluent Mandarin Chinese and have a linguistic degree from Beijing Language and Culture. I have taught students Chinese in many language schools, privately and at university level.

Since January 2017, I have been working as an online and private tutor, teaching students mathematics grades 1-12 /IGCSE/ AS and A level and Calculus. After I completed my Cambridge IGCSE and A level education and received my exemption certificate, I enrolled at the University of South Africa (UNISA). I am a UNISA BSC Mathematics student and I have obtained A* distinctions for Mathematics, Calculus A and Calculus B modules and examinations. I am excited, passionate and enthusiastic about teaching and mathematics. When I teach, I focus completely on the client, their needs and provide assessments to find gaps in your understanding of your coursework. I work at the student's pace and encourage the student to give their best while I give my best to assist the student and client. I am relaxed when I teach and provide a calm environment for the student to learn. As a student, I understand the pressures we face while we study and feel a deep sense of achievement when I make a difference with teaching. I utilize a whiteboard, books, drawings, notes and other tools to assist the student. I find the best method to ensure the student understands their work. I discuss the work thoroughly with the student as I believe mathematics should be discussed in detail to ensure the student understands their work. I liaise directly with the student and client and provide feedback on lessons. I do my best to teach mathematics in the most simple and easy to understand way. I'm a student at UCT studying Bcom Economics and Statistics. I'm passionate about helping others navigate concepts they might struggle with. I'm expecially fond of explaining the conceptual underpinnings of topics and I think that can be of great value to students. I also believe that continously practice can build proficiency.

I was a bit of a late bloomer and discovered my love for accounting after having matriculated. Accounting can be simple once you know and understand the theory. This is where I come in and simplify accounting concepts.

My name is Jody-Ann Decker I am 24 years old and I am busy with my degree in intermidiate phase education. I am passionate about learning. I matriculated in 2019 with 5 distinctions. I am currently a first year studying musical theatre and dance at Waterfront Theatre School. I took English Home Language, Afrikaans First Additional Language, Mathematical Literacy, Life Orientation, Computer Applications Technology, Dramatic Arts, Music and Life Orientation in high school. I am a super friendly and positive person and have a passion for helping people. I have always been a hard worker and am patient when teaching/helping people while pushing them to do their best and go that extra mile in a safe and positive environment.

I Matriculated twice with two different curriculums, Cambridge and NSC and I got straight A's and A*s from all my subjects. I am currently a 3rd-year university student studying Medicine. I am a person filled with enthusiasm and positivity. My view on the world is that every challenge could be broken down into overcomable smaller steps that could eventually become achievable.

I'm currently in my second year at Stellenbosch University, studying a BSc in Molecular Biology and Biotechology. I have always loved helping others understand concepts and/or methods. In grade 12 I was the head of the mentoring and tutoring service at Fairmont High School and therefore have previous experience in tutoring learners who need to overcome academic obstacles to ensure their future success. I experience immense satisfaction from seeing a peer or student achieve a break through in understanding a concept/idea and applying it.
