My name is Jody-Ann Decker I am 24 years old and I am busy with my degree in intermidiate phase education. I am passionate about learning. I didn't always have it easy at school and always had to give 110% to achieve my goals which taught me the valuable lesson of dedication and self discipline which helped me change the way I learn and experience learning. I now love to learn and am passionate about helping others learn in a way that helps them as an individual become the best they can be. We are all different and therefore we all learn in a unique way and it is my goal to help you achieve your educational goals in a way that works best for you.

Assistant at a Gluten free bakery
I was my bosses number 2 I did anything and everything that needed to be done. I did a lot of work helping customers. The shop was special because a lot of our clients weren't just there for fun but because they were sick or had extreme allergies or even children with various mental, emotional and physical disabilities which resulted in them needed a special diet in order to improve their condition. We offered a range of gluten free products as well as products that were also dairy free, sugar free, nut free and more. I learnt so much and felt it will only help me on my journey in education as I feel diet plays a big role in the way we learn.
Au Pair
I Au Paired for a family with three children age 10, 12 and 14 for a year in Minnesota USA. I worked hard and had many responsibilities when it came to the children, their sports and academics, their personal and social lives as well as their living space and more. I grew a lot and learnt so much from the experience.

BEd Intermediate Phase Education - Two Oceans Graduate Institute
I did not start studying straight out of highschool which I felt gave me a chance to learn and and grow a lot. January 2019 I started studying. I am currently nearing the half way mark of my degree in Education. My studies are 100% online and require self discipline and dedication daily. I am loving my journey towards becoming a well equipped educator.

History is an interesting and diverce subject that can be endlessly studied in so many different ways. I have always enjoyed history and learning about where I came from and how life came to look the way we know it today. From an educational prospective mastering History as a subject requires one to learn how to study content and facts in a way that is successful for you and it requires you to dig deep and find a way to connect with what you are learning on a deeper more personal level thus giving you a greater passion to learn and helping you achieve a better grade. History (Social Studies) is also one of my chosen subjects for my degree in Intermediate Phase Education which I am currently busy with.

I am bilingual and am flyer in both English and Afrikaans. I have an understanding of the language and enjoy speaking it. I feel it can be a lot of fun to learn a new language and have always had a love for Afrikaans partly because I am part Afrikaans by blood and also because I simply have a personal love and connection for the language. I have also learnt a lot about how to best teach Afrikaans Second Language.
