General Maths & Science tutors in Western Cape

Currently doing my MSc at UCT. I triple majored in geology, geography and environmental science in my undergrad at Rhodes University. I did a year of chemistry in my undergrad, however I do geochemistry and geophysics as part of geology so my chemistry is up to scratch. I wont have a problem teaching highschool maths or physics/chemistry, geography or biology.

I received a B+ for Maths and an A for Science in highschool and I am very passionate about it! I also do not believe that there is any person that cannot understand Mathematics or Science, I make it fun and realistic for everyone to become passionate and curious about it too!

I find pleasure in un-hooking learners where they are stuck, and I believe we can all master maths. I have the patience of being lead by the student's pace. My students' needs are my priority. Unlike teachers, I do not have the pressure to complete the curriculum, hence my focus is building conceptual understanding.

I am able to teach maths for grade 4-9. I have taught in a school before, teaching grade 4 and all the subjects, including maths. I have substituted for older grades as well, including maths. I know the content

Working with the student and their level of understanding. I assess past exams and/ or a problem section eg: trig , or mechanics and decide on the extra work . Math and Science need strong foundations and often gaps or scattered understanding lead to shaky thinking.

I have always loved mathematics and science. They are things that have always made sense to me. I achieved a high mark for physics and maths in school and even almost considered continuing with maths into university. I come from a history of mathematics with my father having become a maths teacher at the early age of only 19. I would love the opportunity to make someone else fall in love with maths and science and see that it is not something to be scared of but something to be enjoyed.

I am a qualified Life Science teacher for grades 10, 11 and 12. I also have a science degree: A BSc degree in Human Life Science from the University of Stellenbosch. I had pure mathematics and physical science as subjects through high school. I also took physics , chemistry and mathematics modules in my first year of university studies and a specialized chemistry module: biochemistry, in my second year.

I love Maths & Science! I know what it is like to be confused in this subject and I also know how to turn that confusion into understanding. This is why I believe I am the best person to be your tutor! I achieved a distinction for maths in Matric, and did two years of engineering Maths and Physics at university level. I am a patient person and am willing to take my time in aiding you with your studies.

I have just matriculated and I took these subjects in Matric. I achieved distinctions in these subjects and have a very good understanding of the primary and high school general maths and science curriculum. I am patient and passionate about these subjects.

Maths is second nature for me, so let me make it for you less about learning and more about understanding. Maths was my best subject in High School. It can be yours too.
