I have been teaching history for more than 3 years to primary school students and in the process I also learned a lot. I’ve learned to love the subject and make it fun for each student. I also do all the notes with question papers with memo’s. I also give guidelines to the students in order for them to remember their study material easier.

It is important to understand the history of your culture and country and where it fit into your future. It can be overloaded with facts but there are fun ways of remembering these.

I am familiar with the CAPS history and geography syllabus and have assisted primary school children with their history learning and projects for many years. it is important that scholars understand these subjects and not just learn them parrot fashion as their knowledge needs to be applied

I also specialised in History. I have been excelling in History since my time at secondary school. I have passion for this subject also. Study of History has many advantages, you can become a lawyer, a historian, join many other departments .

Seeing that I've also completed my first year in the History module during my studies, I know I am able to tutor and teach learners in History up until Grade 9. I'll always find ways to make the subject interesting and visual, seeing that all the facts and dates the subject is known for, can sometimes overwhelm students.

I obtained a first-class pass in the subject at the end of high school. I am also in possession of two degrees in the Social Sciences and have taught various courses, short courses and guest lectures in these disciplines. I have a particular interest in South African history as well as the development of Western European states since the feudal period.

By focusing on the core elements of History, I am able to provide students with the necessary tools to achieve more. These elements are information analysis and good essay writing skills.

I am good in summarizing and memorizing work and feel that I will be able to teach students techniques to easier study the work.

History has been frowned upon as a boring subject because, in the past, it's been taught as a subject that deals with memorizing dates and regurgitating that information back to the teacher. With my passion for teaching History, I have come to learn that History teaches one to critically think, analyse and conclude on issues that not only happened in the past but still influence the present and have an effect on the future.

I am also so fascinated by the history of the world and always get caught up in all the stories I read and learned about that it gets stuck in my head. History for me is all about date, time and place in witch I am importantly good at remembering and carrying over. Also it is important to get to know about our country's history as well as the worlds history and get the young minds involved in this from a young age.
