Hi I have been tutoring primary school children for 12 years now as well as home-schooling children and facilitating those in need, in class. I am passionate about what I do , I am very friendly and have immense patience with children , I believe each child can reach their full potential if just given the opportunity. I love working with children of all ages and in my years of experience have worked with many children with learning difficulties too , helping them to achieve their goals. Each child is special to me in their own way, therefore each child is guided to achieve their full potential in the way which best suits them . With my guidance, input and tutoring they have all flourished. I go above and beyond for the children I tutor and at the same time help them to learn to become independent and cope on their own too, as that is vital for high school. Whether its simply doing homework, planning and implementing worksheets I have put together to assist them in areas they need extra help , assisting with orals (English and Afrikaans), learning for tests or exams , guiding them with projects or teaching them concepts they don't understand in various ways, I cover it all. I have excellent written and verbal communication skills, am bilingual(English and Afrikaans), reliable and very organised. I am computer literate and am happy to teach my students the basics on their computer to put a power-point together or research information needed for a project. I make use of various methods of learning to accommodate each learner as I try to instill a love for learning. At present I facilitate a grade 3 child everyday in class. We started at 4 hrs daily at the end of gr 1 but have weaned her down to an hours slot a morning now in gr3 and soon she will be totally on her own as she has made remarkable progress . Every afternoon Monday to Friday and all day Saturday, I tutor children who need assistance with primary school subjects. I have had great success in teaching all subjects , however my scholars all do extremely well in maths and languages. I try to make learning fun and use various approaches to help the child understand the various subjects.

I am familiar with the CAPS history and geography syllabus and have assisted primary school children with their history learning and projects for many years. it is important that scholars understand these subjects and not just learn them parrot fashion as their knowledge needs to be applied

I am fully bilingual in both the written and spoken and have taught Afrikaans 2nd language to children for many years at primary school level. i am therefore able to help children with their pronunciation too.

At primary school level science and biology are taught as one subject. For 12 yrs I have assisted children with this subject successfully both learning it and doing projects. They are both interesting subjects and fun to learn

I teach all aspects of the English language to children. we play games , use que cards , worksheets and all different ways of teaching to learn the language. I have also completed the TEFL course and have taught foreigners English too
