I have completed my Bachelor's degree in Education at the University of Pretoria at the end of 2019. The subjects that I specialised in included, Geography, Social Studies, Mathematics (Grade 7-9) and Mathematical Literacy and therefore believe I am well equipped to tutor any candidate in these subjects. However, seeing that teaching is my passion, I know I'll give my best effort to tutor any other candidate in any other subject.

During this period, I was the au pair for Ms. van Niekerk’s two children (7 years and 11 years). My duties entailed transport – fetching them from school and dropping them off at home and also at different activities or appointments. General aid in terms of homework and study work, especially for the older child, was provided as part of my other main duties.
As an au pair for Ms. Viviers’ Grade 9 son, I was responsible for assisting him with projects and study work and also general week planning.
As a student teacher at Eduplex High School, I had the opportunity to teach Mathematics for Grade 8 and 9’s as part of my 4th year practical for education.
During my 4th and final practicals for education, I was a student teacher for the Grade 9, 10 and 11 Geography classes and thereby taking on all my mentor teacher’s classes.
During my 3rd year practical for education, I was a student teacher for Grade 10s teaching Geography.
During my practical for my 2nd year of education, I was a student teacher for Grade 7s teaching Geography as part of Social Studies.
This period formed part of my Gap-year and I spent it being employed as a cashier at Obaro Vaalwater. I was responsible for processing client’s goods on the cash register as well as doing the cash-up and balancing the daily, weekly and monthly cash register. I have learned work ethics and to always act in a responsible manner when dealing with members of the public (Client service and Client relationship management).
The University of Pretoria has presented me with the opportunity of studying education that will allow me to work with people as part of my occupation in the future. 2018 is my 3rd year studying BEd. and I will complete my course at the end of 2019. I have thus far managed to pass all my modules from my first year up until now, and have an almost 70% cumulative average, with 4 extra modules in my 3rd year. Given this, I was awarded the Golden Key in my class (top 15%) for both my first, second and third year.
My school career at the Afrikaans High School For Girls Pretoria, presented many opportunities in which I could I learn new knowledge and skills in academics, sport, culture and my social life. I was part of the school’s different choirs for three years, played in the school’s second teams in chess and soft ball and also participated in netball. In grade 8 and 9, I received colours for academics and culture and achieved 2 distinctions for my end year results in the subjects of Life Orientation and Geography in Grade 12; also achieving 79 for the subject English First Additional Language and 78 for Afrikaans Home Language.
I have extensive exposure and knowledge in this subject, as I it was one of the subjects I specialised in during my Teaching degree. I am therefore equipped to teach and tutor this subject for Grade 10-12 students.

I am able to assist candidates with Mathematics up until Grade 9, seeing that I have taught this subject to Grade 8 and 9s during my teaching practicals in 2019. Therefore, I am aware of common struggles learners may have, but also the solutions to ensure any candidate will understand and exceed in Math.

Seeing that I've also completed my first year in the History module during my studies, I know I am able to tutor and teach learners in History up until Grade 9. I'll always find ways to make the subject interesting and visual, seeing that all the facts and dates the subject is known for, can sometimes overwhelm students.

Geography is one of the subjects that I specialised in during my degree in Education. I have a big passion for this subject and extensive knowledge outside school level as it involves how life around us function and is put together.

Although Afrikaans wasn't one of my extra subjects during my degree, it is my home language and therefore close to my heart. I have always excelled in this subject during my whole school career and are still aware of everything the subject requires.
