After matriculation with distinctions in English and Advanced Programme English, I decided to take on an Education degree majoring in English and teaching English. I have tutored children, teenagers, and adults using a variety of proven teaching methods and innovative lesson plans.

Language has been my passion all my life. I absolutely love every aspect of learning, as well as teaching language. I understand and can teach any category of Language, such as Literature, Poetry, Writing and Grammar.

I have successfully completed my BSc degree at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. It consists of a double major: Hydrology & Geography. Within these two majors, I was moulded into a hard-working and consistent individual who utilizes a multidisciplinary approach and open mind when faced with new challenges. I believe that having mastered English in my BSc degree puts me in a position - confident to educate others.

I am a patient person and am willing to sit down with someone and help them understand a certain aspect for as long as it takes before moving on. I also am able to teach things in different ways to help different people understand things and also have some creative ways of teaching things.

Literature is my strong suit. It's what I've spent three years studying at variety and it's what got me my distinction in Matric. I also love critically analysing and it's a skill I think everybody should have. I believe that I am able to teach people how to be critical and independent thinkers.

I am very passionate about the world of English, maybe too passionate sometimes. (I am a terrible grammar nazi, haha) English and the spheres that it encompasses allow individuals to truly express themselves and be able to explain their opinion, perspective, emotions and feelings. It is a beautiful way to share stories and create stories, to emote yourself and analyse the intricacies of literary creations. I will approach tutoring the English Language in a more modern and current way. I have always had a passion for the English language ever since I was young. I loved learning to discover the language through reading and analysing books and novels. English gives you an amazing ability to interpret and decide on an answer to any question for yourself. Yes there are rules for various aspects in English however free thought and creativity is so encouraged which is why I loved learning about it so much.

In high school this subject was taken seriously hence why i took English Home Language. I understand that english is not a hard language to speak however grammar, vocabulary, reading and other aspects get complicated for students. I am here to help students through any challenges they are facing thus questions are more than welcome during the lesson. In addition to this, I will monitor the students performance and pick up their weak points so that I ensure we allocate lessons specifically for those points. I am indeed a patient tutor as I am mindful of the fact that students are only still learning. With that being said, I expect my students to also make an effort outside of our lessons as this will cause an increase in their results at school.
