Afrikaans tutors in Centurion

Because my home language is Afrikaans. I grew up in an Afrikaans home. I also have a lot of resources that will help. I went to an Afrikaans Primary school and High School where Afrikaans was our first language and we had Afrikaans as one of our subjects.

I am Afrikaans and have a good understanding of how to teach this subject as it was one of my favorite subjects in school. I have a lot of fun ways to teach the subject and adapt according to the student’s needs.

Although Afrikaans wasn't one of my extra subjects during my degree, it is my home language and therefore close to my heart. I have always excelled in this subject during my whole school career and are still aware of everything the subject requires.

I obtained my degree from the University of Cape Town with Afrikaans as one of my majors. I have experience in tutoring both high school and primary school learners. I am very committed and passionate about tutoring and working with people. I a person that always gives 100% when I do anything.

I am a second year student, studying Foundation Phase education. I absolutely have a passion for working with children. I am currently working as an Au Pair. I have been working for the same family since January. I also have +- 1,5y experience working with Down Syndromes/ special needs children. I can give tutoring for Afrikaans, English, Mathematics and LO for Grades R-8.

I have over 10 years of experience in teaching Afrikaans Taal - Grammar essay writing literature vocabulary summaries of short stories and prescribed work. analysing of poems other subjects I can assist in preparation for tests as well as help with homework.

While completing my BCom (Law) and LLB degrees, I learnt a lot about myself and the fact that I was invited to join the Golden Key Society, as well as appearing on the Dean’s List of Merit and achieving the highest marks for Sports Law 420 and Cyber Law 420, greatly reinforced my belief that I can achieve anything I set my mind to. I can also proudly say that I have been admitted as an attorney in January of last year after completing a year of articles and 6 months of evening classes for law school. It took a lot of dedication and long hours and it was indeed tiring; however, it has been worth it in the end. It had brought me closer to accomplishing my dream of being an attorney. I am also currently completing my master’s degree at the University of Pretoria, specialising in Consumer Protection, as I am passionate about the law and helping others. I therefore believe that I have the duty to impart my knowledge and skills to future generations of law students.

Over the past 20 years I have worked in a variety of teaching environments, form formal education to corporate training, online educational programmes, tutoring and extra mural classes. I have a BA Drama from the University of Pretoria and completed additional modules at Unisa for non-degree purposes on Literature. I am passionate about improving the lives of learners through education and started a small NGO to accommodate programmes I am already involved in as well as create opportunities for more projects on literacy etc.

I've been afforded the privilege of music lessons from a very young age and I still experience the value and positive impact this had on my academic, personal and professional life. I currently run MoveIt Meerkats, a business I built ground-up. My goal is to share my passion for music and teaching with as many families, care takers and pre-school children as possible. My music qualifications (all from UNISA): Piano Grade VIII, Organ Grade VIII, Theory of Music Grade VI, Voice Grade VI, Recorder Grade III I am a mountain biker and belly dancer. Passionate about Italian cooking, colour, travelling, friends (old and new) & family!
