Hello, I'm Christiaan Poolman. About me: I was born and raised in the Freestate, Bloemfontein, and have been residing in Centurion, Tswane (Pretoria) since 2016 I am a professional Graphic Designer who loves the design field and everything related to it. Some of the subjects I excelled at the Tertiary level were: History and Art of Design as well as Design Practice. I have extensive experience in the field as a freelance and junior graphic designer. In addition to loving Graphic Design, I also love people and working with them! I can be of help to your child/learner in the following areas: Foundation Phase & Intermediate Phase Math. Language classes for English and/or Afrikaans. Teaching and assistance in History, Art, and Design. With my particular skills set I will be able to help your child cover their curriculum, achieve good to excellent results whilst enjoying their learning. B.Tech Graphic Design - CUT Free State
As part of a research project in our graduate year, I chose a topic that involved communicating effectively with imagery without the use of words. I took Coca-Cola as a brand and made outdoor ads with relevant images with hidden meanings connected to it. The viewers then had to determine what the message was that the ad conveyed in the given ad and if words were needed to convey the message successfully. This is also known as Semiotics-the study of signs and symbols and their use or interpretation.

I have a B.Tech Degree in the field of Graphic Design with two years of experience in the field of design. In my free time, I do freelance work and personal projects. As a hobby, I also do photography and some videography. I am familiar with programs like Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects. My future goals are to be a programmer and UI designer.
