Hi there, I am Byron, I am currently studying my honors in Geology and of coarse have my degree. I have a world of knowledge in the sciences as well as the earth itself. I seek to find knowledge anywhere I can and have been studying for 5 years now. I am specializing in petroleum geology which requires me to know many things, from technology to machinery. With my many years of studying I have come to understand that education is the most important thing a person can posses, which is something I was unaware of in school. With my studying also comes academic knowledge on how to study, how to write reports or essays, referencing, researching and understanding what is being read. I attended Milnerton High School and loved it there. I have a love for sport, bodybuilding and science. I do not drink or smoke and very rarely go out clubbing as it serves very little purpose in life. I feel obligated to help anyone possible as everyone has a right to be educated and make the most of themselves. As a young person I can also relate to many things and I do pride myself in my ability to put information across. In honors we are required to give many presentations, which I feel I can help with too. Many of my friends attribute their marks to me helping them during exams and assignments, which shows me I am able to work well with people and also educate them. Thank you for taking the time to read a bit about me.

After finishing my A-levels at school I went to University and graduated in Management Science and Computing and then completed a PGCE in mathematics teaching. I am a mother of three adult children who have now all graduated university and now live in different parts of the world. After my youngest daughter left for university 4 years ago and following many years of teaching in the UK, I decided to broaden my horizons and gain experience in the 'real' world, away from teaching institutions. This resulted in spending 4 years as Office Manager at a charity working with vulnerable young people. This enabled me to a certain extent to draw on my teaching experience while also embarking on a huge learning curve myself, acquiring many new skills including all the finance management, bid writing, being PA to the CEO, achieving Quality Assurance Marks and much more. However, my heart was really still in teaching, so in the summer I left that job and spent time in Uganda working with teachers and head teachers in classrooms and providing teacher training. The eve of my return to the UK, six years ago, became the beginning of a total life change. Subsequently I left the UK to come and live in the Western Cape, which is a beautiful place to live, but so far has proved frustrating in finding teaching work. I have recently been granted my 'Own Business' Visa which enables me to work in the field of Education - so now I am hoping to find some such work here in SA where my knowledge, skills and experience can be of benefit to the schools and children here. I am a very sociable person with an interest in theatre, cinema, reading, hiking and most especially wine tasting, since moving to the Western Cape!
