I am a first year UCT student majoring in English and Politics. Though these are my majors, I also love maths, biology and history. I graduated matric last year with 5 distinctions and am currently pursuing a degree with the hopes of specialising in English after my undergraduate program. As I love learning, I really enjoy teaching too, especially in subjects that interest me. I have a lot of experience working with younger children, having worked at children's birthday parties. Also, being 19, I can easily get along with High school students and understand the struggle they are going though.

I find it empowering to help young adults grow and therefore I am passionate to work with people. I have a creative mind and am therefore always keen for new challenges. With my qualifications, BA degree in Humanities, two of my major subjects being Psychology and Sociology hence my high level of interest in the way people work and of what they do and why, especially the youth and adolescents. I have also completed my PGCE through Stellenbosch, because I have a high interest in working with students and young adults and helping them grow and develop a meaningful way that will help them to contribute to society. I am also a hockey coach and that teaches me a lot on how to work with big crowds and groups of people at the same time. I have a great passion for people and the world we live in. I see this as my contribution to building the foundation for future generations. My heart and mind goes into teaching adolescents the values and knowledge they need to adapt to the outside world and the challenges of the everyday life. I am very keen and excited to spend my time tutoring students to be the best that they can be.I trust that I have the sufficient subject knowledge to help learners achieve any desired results in my field of studies which is Geography, English, Afrikaans and LO.

Sinenhlanhla matriculated with 5 distinctions and obtained her Bachelor of Commerce in Financial Accounting from the University of Cape Town. She has three years of tutoring experience. Her tutoring style is very engaging and proactive and former students would describe her as bubbly, patient and thorough. She is currently working as an Accountant in the financial services industry. In her spare time enjoys reading, drawing and baking.

I am currently a second year student at the University of Cape Town studying English, Economics, and French. I am a member of the Golden Key Honour Society (top 15% in my faculty) and I was on the Deans Merit List. I grew up in Cape Town, and moved to the United States when I was 14. I completed grades 9 and 10 in the United States, I received my International Baccalaureate Diploma from an overseas boarding school (grade 11&12). I currently work for UCT as a tutor in the economics department and I have experience tutoring matric core maths, maths lit, biology, and english. I am also able to tutor economics and french. My name is Taswell Solomons. I am 29 years old, residing in Cape Town, Western Cape. I completed my NSC (Grade 12) at Star International High School in 2008. Since then I've completed a Bachelors Degree in Sociology and Public Administration at UCT in 2011, a Postgrad Diploma in Public Administration and Policy at UNISA in 2013, a Postgrad Diploma in Management in Information Systems at UCT in 2016, and will be starting a Bachelors of Law degree at UNISA in 2021. I have worked in various employment sectors throughout the years and have also continued to tutor mostly high school children in multiple subjects, specifically Mathematics. I enjoy tutoring both primary and high school learners and have been exposed to and dealt with an array of different student types throughout my tutoring career. With the exposure I have gained, I've been able to expand on key characteristics such as patience, empathy, understanding and care which enables me to be a great tutor. I believe tutoring should be tailored to the specific student and I have become adept in identifying the best means for a student to achieve a deep understanding of the work/subject at hand. I would also consider myself to be quite relatable and I would always ensure that the student is comfortable and confident to participate in lessons and to work towards any goals that are set.
