I enjoy Mathematics, weird I know. I have had lots of experience with it. I got 86% in my NSC exams for it. I also did A-Levels in Mathematics and Mechanics (Physics and Math on steroids). I have also had lots of exposure to it thanks to my university studies, studying Mechanical Engineering. People always make math sound terrifying but in all honesty it doesn't have to be. Breaking it down to the core components we can conquer it. Ill bring my passion for Math over to you, and help you grow.

I excelled at Math on a school level and proceeded to study Mathematics at University. I am qualified to teach Maths up to Gr12. I explain things clearly, and I am extremely patient with students. Having teaching experience in various places and countries (and various age groups) I know how students learn in different ways.

As an art major, one of my strengths is bringing my creativity along. I do this by coming up with interesting ways to learn with my students. I understand that it is easy to feel discouraged when a concept isn't instantly grasped. I aim to keep my students motivated by incorporating a creative element. My mother teaches Maths to grade 4s and I have always had her methods to look up to.

Being an electrical engineering student, we are taught to tackle very complex mathematical problems. With this knowledge and skills obtained, I am well equipped to teach you ways in which to tackle your own mathematical problems efficiently and easily.

I taught maths for a year to students aged 15-18. This allowed me to further my own ability to teach as it requires a lot of patience and understanding. I believe in building a trusted relationship with my students that allows them to focus on the subject that they wish to improve on.

When I was in High School I did not like Math class. I found it boring and hated the homework so I had more blank pages and doodles in my book than I could count. But I like how interconnected and experimental everything was. I liked how something I learnt in Grade 8 was built upon all the way into matric. It was only when I was in Grade 12 and my new math teacher was really great that I started to actually enjoy Maths. All of a sudden, I went from never doing my homework to only doing Math homework, because I was suddenly able to answer the questions “Why?” and “What if?” I want to help you get that same excitement for Maths that I suddenly developed, and the key to that experience lies within you. Many people do not give the phrase “practice makes perfect” enough credit. We learn by building pathways in our brains the first time we learn something, and then reinforcing them every time we practice. I want to help you build that pathway, then together we can work out what is the way to pave that pathway that suits you, as a learner, best.

This is by far my favourite subject in the world. I enjoy the fact that this subject is objective, and can be easily mastered once you understand the rules and guidelines that come with the subject. I have a passion and thorough understanding of this subject with years of experience in tutoring it. This has enabled me to pinpoint general problem areas in the subject with an array of methods to explain it to others (because not everyone thinks and understands the same).

I achieved 98 for final matric and 70 for first year mathematics. I have a deep understanding of the course material and will be able to guide any sort of thought process. I enjoy mathematics thoroughly and find pleasure in teaching others and seeing their perception of the syllabus.

I have a great passion for mathematics. I achieved excellent results for mathematics throughout my school career. I also completed a course in advanced programme mathematics (grade 10 -12). I have completed a degree in mechanical engineering at Stellenbosch university and therefore have a higher understanding of the subject

Growing up I struggled with Math, especially in High School. The biggest challenge was not being able to grasp concepts and formulas; my Math teachers just couldn't explain Mathematics in a way that I could understand. Once I started studying at University, all the lights went on and I finally understood. I have now successfully taught Mathematics for the past 5 years and have devised clever-to- understand learning methods that make Mathematics fun and achievable.
