I teach vocabulary, reading to struggling readers in the intermediate phase as well as the art of writing. I have been helping students with Dysgraphia, Dyslexia and other barriers to learning integrate into the mainstream with the correct strategies and assistive technology.

I have a BA in English Studies as well as being qualified in English Home Language/First Additional Language teaching. I am passionate about literacy skills and believe developing a love for language is vital. I have special needs experience and am trained in interventions for Language issues.

I am fluent in English and received an 84% average in grade 12 for English and therefore know the language very well from literature to grammar. I am confident in the language and will be able to help with any difficulties.

I have been teaching English as a second language to non native speakers and been tutoring young kids who had little to no knowledge of the language. I have first hand experience in teaching the basic phonics to kids and also business English to adults.

Having received a distinction for English in my matric year and having an avid passion for reading, allows me to believe that I know what it takes not only to improve but to excel in English. My brief tutoring experience at the beginning of the year in English saw improvements to all 5 of students I helped.

I was the top English student in my high school for my senior years, and I really enjoyed both the literature and the grammar sections (which I gather is quite rare). I'm very excited to share that passion with you! I'm also a qualified TEFL English teacher, so I am well-versed in English-teaching techniques as both a first and second language.

I have forty years work experience and I enjoy teaching Foundation Phase learners how to read, spell, write and speak. My lessons are exciting! I always ensure that my learners are engaged and that they are having fun. Learning should be fun and not boring! I pay attention to detail and I am very prepared for my lessons. I use resources to explain topics and I like to do research. I always consolidate concepts taught before testing learners.

I love English and I am a huge reader. I enjoy helping people understand the language and sharing my love for the subject. I think English is an important subject as it forms a solid foundation for people, therefore, I enjoy teaching people in order to help them understand the subject.

I am patient, calm and would like to think I have that affect on people around me too. I have a passion for helping others- especially children. I would love to help the students understand the basics of English and help with reading, writing and learning the vocabulary.
