English Literature tutors in Cape Town

Literature has been my absolute passion since a young age. I'm never without a book to read and I love reading between the lines to deepen my experience. I took English as my major during my undergraduate studies.

With the exposure I have had, I've been able to expand on key characteristics such as patience, empathy, understanding and care which enables me to be a great tutor. I believe tutoring should be tailored to the specific student and I have become adept in identifying the best means for a student to achieve a deep understanding of the work/subject at hand. I would also consider myself to be quite relatable and I would always ensure that the student is comfortable and confident to participate in lessons and to work towards any goals that are set.

I received an A for English in high school, for all three papers - literature, creative writing, and vocabulary. I also took English literature and vocabulary in my first year of university. I absolutely love English. I have over 5 years of English tutoring experience. Teaching literature is a unique experience in which real understanding can be cultivated, and in which philosophy, current events, societal analysis, and critical thinking can be activated.

English has always been one of my favorite subjects. I am an avid reader and I am fastidious about grammar, punctuation and the likes! In high school, I did both English first language (FAL) and Advanced Programme English. I achieved a distinction for both. I also have experience in teaching English.

I am a graduate of English Honours. I am proficient at editing, writing, creative writing, analysis, and reading. I can help with setworks and Shakespeare at school. I am also able to check essays and prepare students for comprehension and exam questions. I want to make students confident and passionate about literature.

I am a fluent english speaker and achieved great results for the subject throughout high school. I enjoyed the english subject throughout my school career and continued to read throughout university to keep my english skills up to standard.

Matrictulated with over 90% for English. Very passionate to teach for all ages.I have a good grasp of the English language and I am a patient and knowledgeable teacher. I have fun, creative ways of making sure concepts are easily understood.

I would like to set my footprint in the future of our society and be a part of it by allowing the junior students to understand that everything counts, from the vocabulary to the actions of their ways. I love the joys of junior as they bring the best out of us adults.

English was my favorite subject at school! I loved writing essays, in fact, I didn’t get below a 90% for any of mine in matric! I took both Core and AP English and loved both. I’m an avid reader and writer, which gives me a huge advantage in teaching literature skills. I learnt some great tips during high school from some amazing teachers. I’d love to share them with you, along with some fantastic notes!

I am currently studying teaching (Foundation Phase), through UNISA. I have also done a semester long course in mathematics at the University of Stellenbosch.
