Afrikaans tutors in Cape Town

I am an Afrikaans speaking lady, born and raised but all my schooling has been done in English. I feel like I am the best tutor for Afrikaans because I am able to communicate fluently in both English and Afrikaans which will nearly nullify an confusion or miscommunication. I took Afrikaans First Additional Language as one of my subjects in both Primary and High School and am therefore well educated in the subject and able to assist students.

I understand how Afrikaans can be a difficult and frustrating language to learn for many people - I am a very patient tutor that is willing to find unique and innovative ways to teach in order to make the process easier as well as less frustrating for the student. I come from a Afrikaans background and I managed to obtained 82% in my matric finals for Afrikaans.

Although I am English speaking, I grew up in a dual-medium home and attended dual-medium schools. I achieved 85% for Afrikaans in Matric and I've continued to speak Afrikaans after school. Furthermore, I regularly speak Afrikaans in both a social and work environment.

As a Afrikaans speaking individual, I understand the Afrikaans language as well as the culture of it. It is a unique language that I love and understand as it was part of my life as far as I can remember. Apart from having the neccessary experience and understanding of this language, I also have a passion for it in order to teach it to people.

Afrikaans is my first additional language. I teach Afrikaans language and literature at the Foundation Phase level based on the CAPS curriculum. I can speak, read and write it with confidence and will be able to assist young learners with this.

I am an native Afrikaans speaker who attended school in Afrikaans and who completed Higher grade Afrikaans as a subject at school. I am familiar with the language and speak it everyday which makes me the ideal tutor to anyone wanting to learn Afrikaans for everyday speaking or as a subject.

Afrikaans is one of my home languages so I have a lot of exposure to it in addition to taking it as a subject in Primary and High School. I am patient and understanding when it comes to teaching others which in addition to my experience in the subject would make me a suitable tutor.

My home language is Afrikaans. I grew up in Pretoria and speak suiwer Afrikaans. My schooling from Primary school to High School was in Afrikaans. I did every subject in Afrikaans and received high marks. I love Afrikaans and find it easy to teach and because I was forced to completely change from Afrikaans to English when I entered tertiary, I have a high level of compassion and patience when it comes to teaching this beautiful language.

I have extensive experience in the requirements for Afrikaans with regards to the South African curriculum. I have taught and worked closely with planning the curriculum map of my classes. I enjoy bringing personal interests into the class which will help the understanding and enjoyment of learning the language.

I am fluent in Afrikaans. I matriculated with a distinction. I also pride myself on having good teaching skills that will be advantageous for someone who is struggling with learning the language.
