Afrikaans tutors in Sea Point

I got a distinction for IEB Afrikaans in my matric year, and I have an Afrikaans-speaking mother. I can assist students with speaking, reading, writing and grammar. I have effective ways of making work easy to learn and understand.

I took Afrikaans to matric as a second language and received a distinction (IEB). Writing in Afrikaans is a strong suit of mine and I am able to teach Afrikaans language as well as help with orals and literature.

I have tutored Afrikaans since I was 16, often assisting my fellow classmates. My final mark was 86% and I was raised to be bilingual. My Mom is Afrikaans and I love my culture, something that comes across in my teaching.

I completed a degree in Educational Pyschology and I have my Master degree in Educational Support. I love supporting students and I will be able assist them with strategies that will enable them to improve their work.

I am a qualified Language Practitioner, and I have my own Freelance company. I also have also a Post Graduate Diploma (I studied in the U.K.) in Tourism and Hospitality Management. I have been working as a Language Practitioner since 2000 till currently. I am very good with children and I am passionate about education. I have years of experience (year and abroad) working with Primary School children as a tutor/Au Pair.

Afrikaans was the fourth language I learned and I first did not like it at all just because people would laugh at me for having a German accent that South Africans cannot place when speaking Afrikaans as so little Germans try to speak it. After a while I quickly realised that Afrikaans is quite similar to German and it grew on me and I find it very cute. I enjoy teaching it as a first additional language.
