Afrikaans tutors in Western Cape

I love teaching languages. Even though my current first language is English, because I work in a complete English environment, I will never let my Afrikaans down. My mother tongue is Afrikaans, and I absolutely love it and am extremely proud to speak it. I have also helped various language-students to understand, speak and write Afrikaans fluently.

Afrikaans is my home language, so I can communicate and understand someone easily. However, I took it as a First Additional Subject. I did still receive 89% in the end exam. I have understanding behind this subject and can explain it in either languages.

With the exposure I have had, I've been able to expand on key characteristics such as patience, empathy, understanding and care which enables me to be a great tutor. I believe tutoring should be tailored to the specific student and I have become adept in identifying the best means for a student to achieve a deep understanding of the work/subject at hand. I would also consider myself to be quite relatable and I would always ensure that the student is comfortable and confident to participate in lessons and to work towards any goals that are set.

I graduated top 1% in the country for Afrikaans First Additional Language (because my school didn't offer Afrikaans Home Language). I speak Afrikaans at home but I have been through 12 years of Afrikaans at school, so I am confident in saying I know all the rules for writing and speaking the language. (yes, STOMPI)

I am fluent in the Afrikaans language, I translate in my lessons in order for my learners to grasp the language. I can determine learners weak points and improve on it. My lessons are engaging and student centered and I believe in building relationships with my learners to grasp their understanding and abilities.

Afrikaans is my home language and I have a deep love and appreciation for the language and culture. I have a passion for reading and writing and enjoy sharing this with my students. Afrikaans is my huistaal en ek het 'n diep liefde en waardering vir die taal en kultuur. Ek het 'n passie vir lees en skryf en geniet dit om dit oor te dra na my studente.

It is my home language and I love using various practical teaching methods to help learners learn in an audible, visual, kinesthetic way and more. I'm also open to teach English, reading, vocabulary, spelling and various forms of dance & dance studies.

Afrikaans is my mother-tongue, and I absolutely love it. I had a wonderful teacher in high school who inspired me to want to pursue university studies in Afrikaans. I love that it is a living language and ever-changing, and I want to be part of it as much as I can.

Afrikaans is much easier than you think it is. Once you know the basics and have increased your vocabulary , you will be will be amazed at how quickly you grasp this language and how your results will improve.

I graduated high school as the best student in the country in Afrikaans Home Language, with an average of 96%. I am an avid reader of both prose and poetry and also write myself. I have an excellent vocabulary and knowledge of the rules, structure and technical side of the language
