I grew up speaking fluent Afrikaans at home and learned, at school, that the key to mastering reading and writing is understanding grammar rules. I am fluent in English and can, thus, help with understanding and skills in all spheres of the language.

I have always enjoyed Afrikaans FAL under the IEB curriculum. I have taught various students First Additional Language Afrikaans throughout my 4 years working experience, and have achieved excellent results.

Ek is 'n opgeleide Grondslagfase onderwyseres. Ek het baie ervaring met leerders uit verskillende agtergronde bystaan as tutor en onderwyseres. Taalontwikkeling op ' n jong ouderdom is baie belangrik. Ek glo om 'n liefde vir taal by leerders te kweek deur prakties te werk en leer pret te maak.

I took Afrikaans to matric as a second language and received a distinction (IEB). Writing in Afrikaans is a strong suit of mine and I am able to teach Afrikaans language as well as help with orals and literature.

I achieved an A for Afrikaans in High School and really enjoy both writing and speaking the language. Moving from Durban to Stellenbosch has helped me to develop more practical speaking skills and so I believe I am fairly proficient in the subject of Afrikaans. I speak Afrikaans fluently, and scored better in my Afrikaans exams than English! . . . . . . . ... I'm currently studying in the 4th year of my LLB after graduating with a BA in Psychology at UCT on a full academic scholarship. My intention has always been to practice as an attorney, however I chose to also pursue a degree in psychology out of both interest and a desire to challenge myself. have always believed in the value of hard work, and have had some form of a employment since I was 13. I know how incredible of an opportunity my scholarship is, and I plan on making the best of it. Although I have high aspirations, I am aware of the importance of remaining humble, and I hope to be able to use my future success to give back to my community, and perhaps enable some people in similar situations as my own to achieve greatness. I am on the Dean's Merit List, and have received a Student Excellence Award as well as a Class Medal. I believe what sets me apart from other strong academic candidates is my understanding of the real world and the need for unrelenting drive and constant self-improvement. I'm a great team-player, although I am also capable of taking on leadership and solo roles, as well as following instructions and taking initiative. I have ample wit, and will bring a bit of joy to any office. I hope to work in a high-pace environment as I thrive off of pressure and a bit of healthy competition. Although my academics have always been my top priority, I am also involved in several community service projects. I spend every Saturday morning either volunteering at a free legal clinic in Khayelitsha, or mentoring young women from Philippi. I hope to one day have a career that will allow me to truly utilize my skills, including lateral thinking and my ability to empathize and connect with people. I am particularly interested in Contract Law and Delict, and hope to pursue my masters in Contract Law at UCT.

Matrictulated with over 90% for Afrikaans. Very passionate to teach for all ages but would thrive with younger children. I have a good grasp of the Afrikaans language and I am a patient and knowledgeable teacher. I have fun, creative ways of making sure concepts are easily understood.

I have tutored Afrikaans since I was 16, often assisting my fellow classmates. My final mark was 86% and I was raised to be bilingual. My Mom is Afrikaans and I love my culture, something that comes across in my teaching.

Afrikaans is my home language and I have a great respect and understanding not just for speaking it but also in reading, writing and important language skills. Afrikaans can be fun to learn like any other language If you have someone that is patient and willing to help you create fun ways to learn.
