I am a creative linguist with a strong passion for education and constant learning. I hold a BA in Hispanic Language and Literature and an MA in Hispanic Linguistics from Mexico (my home country). In addition, I earned an MSc in Theoretical Linguistics from Canada (my second home). I have been teaching Spanish as a Second Language as well as specific topics in Hispanic Linguistics and Literature for over 15years. My teaching approach is to view language as a social activity with special attention on the language use. I have taught different groups of people in different environments: from curricular university courses with young students to more relaxed classes in private language schools with middle-aged and senior students. In addition, I have offered tailor-made private lessons to professionals and public servants of various ages and levels of proficiency in Spanish.

I express this feeling of eagerness or enthusiasm to bring change and hope to those who are in need. I completed degree in Computer Science and information Systems last year, and Graduated in Applied maths and Mathematics. I have this burning desire of helping others. Hoping that with my skills and Information that I have will be useful and add value to the programme.

Named Khathutshelo Makatu (Khathu), I reside in Kelvin, Johannesburg and I matriculated in 2019 at Marlboro Gardens Combined School with a 100% pass rate. I have achieved a Bachelor's pass rate with 4 Distinctions and become a Top Achiever for Computer Studies and Business Studies. I will be currently studying Software Engineering and also aim to help other students in areas that they seek assistance in. It is said that one can truly succeed with the help of others and indeed with tutors helping students in areas of concern they can definitely improve and be the best version they can towards their studies. I completed my Honours Degree in Economic Science at the University of the Witwatersrand. I previously completed my undergraduate BCom Economics Degree at North West University where I was a first and second-year Economics and Econometrics tutor. I come from a family of teachers and I myself love tutoring. I not only tutored at my university but have also worked as a Model United Nations coach for different schools around the North West region. In my local Pathfinder club, I have taught the junior classes and in my local church, I often conduct the weekly Bible Lesson Study. My name is Emma van Heerden I am a Chiropractic student at UJ. Before finding my passion in Chiro, I studied Environmental Science at TUKS and completed my Honour in Sustainable Development at Stellenbosch University.
