I am fluent in Afrikaans, and have experience working with patients in Afrikaans, providing speech therapy to them in Afrikaans, which requires a high level of understanding of the language. I resided in an Afrikaans community for 1 year whilst doing my community service and spoke Afrikaans there daily. I matriculated with a distinction in Afrikaans.

I took Afrikaans as a First Additional Language from primary up till high school. I have always received excellent results and I believe that I can offer the same to my students. I am patient and always aim to help those that I teach to achieve the best results possible.

Afrikaans is my home language. I am very proud and passionate about this language. This language is in my roots and I believe I can teach this in an excellent manner. Afrikaans can be sometimes difficult to understand it’s ways, but when you snap it, you will fall in love with its ways and culture.

I am Afrikaans and love the Afrikaans language. I find it so unique and interesting. I’m married to an English guy whom I’ve had to help a lot when it comes to Afrikaans. That made me realize that a lot of English people need help with Afrikaans. I was also the top student in my grade 12 year for Afrikaans.

Afrikaans is not my home language, however this does imply that I worked hard and learned how to preform well in Afrikaans to obtain my distinction in matric as my first additional language. I went from getting 50's in Afrikaans in primary school to getting distinctions in matric. I know how it feels to think learning Afrikaans is impossible but it really isn't once you learn how to put the work in.

Afrikaans was my best Matric result out of all my subjects. I have grown up amongst Afrikaans family, so am very familiar with the language. I am confident with Afrikaans terminology and conversational aspects as well as the many language aspects of Afrikaans in the academic sense, including concepts like lydende en bedrywende vorm, indirekte rede, trappe van vergelyking, betreklike voornaamwoorde etc.

Afrikaans is my mother tongue and was also my strongest academic achievement in high school . Although I practically only communicate in English these days I still have a high aptitude and love for Afrikaans. It is such a sweet and to some strange language. It can seem intimidating to non-speakers which is why my approach is to start with the absolute basics and to focus on aspects such as pronunciation and comprehension that will help you achieve better results.

I am a First Additional Language tutor for Afrikaans. I believe that learning a language is most effective when hearing and speaking it, therefore, I try to conduct most of my Afrikaans lessons in Afrikaans. I enjoy helping students and watching their knowledge of the language grow! I assist all grades up to grade 12.

Afrikaans is one of the mandatory subjects that a learner will need to study and this can be quite challenging. I can help students understand the concepts and rules of Afrikaans and help them achieve admirable results in their tests and exams. It is important to get a basic understanding of the language and then build upon that and I feel like I can tutor students and help them to accomplish this.
