The English language is so beautiful but I know how tricky and intricate it can be. As an aspiring poet and writer, I feel as though I am able to help students who struggle with both the written and spoken word.

I have a lot of experience. I have taught a number of school, different curriculum and learners from different backgrounds. I have also done home schooling where the teacher and learner rapport is very important. English is kind of my home language because that is the language a spend most of my time speaking.

I studied BA Law at the University of Pretoria from 2017-2019, majoring in English Literature. I completed my degree (cum laude) and received a distinction for English in first and second semester of my final year, as well as in matric. I believe I am best suited to tutor this subject because of the comprehensive knowledge and skill that I have acquired in the English language throughout the years I have had the pleasure of learning about it. My BA Law degree has undoubtedly equipped me with sufficient practice in extensive reading and essay writing, as well as an abundance of experience in this aspect of the English language. I believe that writing is a fundamental skill that everyone should possess and feel comfortable with, as it is a basic skill that any tertiary education and future employer will require. Therefore, I am excited to be able to utilize the skills I have gained, including how to organise one's thoughts, plan an essay, form a proper introduction and conclusion and write a well-structured essay/article etc. I am determined to help someone else improve their writing skills and give them the confidence to write beautifully, creatively and concisely in tests, exams and thereafter! I am patient and willing to work with all ages.

I am very patient and understanding.English is my first language so I had to work very hard to fully know and understand it. What I am trying to say is I know what it takes to master the language and can easily help a learner understand the language

I have 10 years experience teaching English as a First and Home Language. I have 6 years experience as the subject head of languages: moderating assessments and examination papers. I have completed various courses and training to keep up to date with changes in the system. I have been Head of Department of Educational Guidance for 2 years.

I started reading at 5 years old. Not children’s books, but the newspaper. I have an ability to write in a more mature, yet understandable way, while also having the ideas to make a story come alive. I was placed into the top matric class for Cambridge English for this exact reason and passed halfway through the year already, allowing me to bank the subject then.

I am extremely adept at English writing skills, even in this era of digital communication I still know how to compose and structure a sentence correctly, use descriptive terminology and generally attempt to make whatever I write interesting and understandable

I'm a very avid reader and freelance write when I have the time. I also write essays for college assignments and therefore, have to use extensive vocabulary. I am most passionate about creative writing as well as helping students out with speeches and giving out topic ideas that could help in them.

I achieved a Distinction for English in Matric and in High School, I was heavily involved with the Dramatic Arts Department and wrote and assisted in writing numerous plays that were awarded in regional play competitions.
