I am currently studying to become a teacher and specializing in English. I also have experience with working with primary school children and teaching them to read. English is also another subject I am passionate about.

Reading is a skill that is essential in our day to day lives. It helps us communicate, understand and makes our lives easier. Reading is also a creative outlet from our busy lives and allows us freedom to escape. I will be able to teach you the mechanics of reading, decoding reading and how skim reading. I will also help you become better at your comprehension skills.

Improving reading skills can be a hard task and a sensitive one too when students feel embarrassed about having to read out loud or make mistakes. My view is that mistakes are all part of the learning process and that it is very important to have a safe and respectful environment when students are practicing reading skills in particular. I find that patience and kindness are the most important skills when teaching reading and for this reason, it is one of my favourite skills to help my students develop further.

I had modules on teaching reading in University. I also have experience teaching reading to Grade 1 at Westerlig Primary as well to ages 6-10 in Thailand. Reading focuses on the development of vocabulary, grammar and the comprehension of the text. My reading activities are based on five components - Phonemic awareness, word recognition (sight words and phonics), comprehension, vocabulary and fluency.

Every learner is unique and therefore they each have a different learning style. I will make use of phonetics, sight words and fun games to teach/improve the learners reading. I have previous experience in assisting a learner who had Auditory Processing Disorder and I had to use different techniques to teach, we found one that worked.

I have always loved to read and I am very knowledgeable in the reading area. Because I am studying to become a teacher, I am able to help the little ones with reading skills by teaching them how to pronounce words correctly as well as read fluently and confidently.

I have always loved reading and I love showing other children the joys of reading and helping them find books that they can't put down. Reading is such an important skill and I would love to help more children to enjoy it as much as I do.

I understand learning disabilities that may occur and what one can do to help improve. The importance of mastering the basics to become an avid reader. I have ADHD and used to find reading a tedious and tiring process. Until I was taught how to make reading fun and simple and I believe all learners should have that experience.

As an emerging researcher, my reading capabilities are excellent. I enjoy reading and it is one of my hobbies. I am also a member of an online book club. I believe reading is one of the most important skills in this world and I encourage it across all age groups.

Having gone through all my education in English, I have a good command of the English language. I also have a score of 9 in the General IELTS examination. I have tutoring experience and I have the desirable soft skills; patience, understanding and structure to successfully tutor this subject.
