Bathroom designer
I spent most years doing tile sales and bathroom designs for tile companies while I was saving up for my degree. I did do a course in interior decorating and this did help me a lot
Freelance tutor
As of this year I decided to become a freelance tutor. I received training from Kip Mc Grath. I have been tutoring privately ever since. I have been tutoring students of all ages from grade 1 to matric. I enjoy my students and go the extra mile for them in some cases I assist with study notes for exam preparation. All my students have been improving this year which is great as this year was a bit of a mess. But having someone come out and explain the work to them and assist wherever possible definitely made a difference
Au pair
I was an au pair to a family for a year. Here is where I had to do daily tasks. One of my tasks was to ensure that homework was completed as well as assignments for school. On Friday we always did practice tests of the weeks work as well as spelling tests and reading practice. Once a month we revised all the work done so far. In doing this I have improved a learners marks from achieving 50-60% to achieving 80% and sometimes 90%

Foundation phase education - UNISA
I started my degree very late. But there was nothing that was going to stop me. I do not believe there is a reason to give up. I am a mother of two and I work most days. I have had many challenges and never saw these as a reason to give up these were all just reasons to work harder and prove to my self that I can do this
Matric certificate - Eldoraign high school
It was a great school and I learned a lot. I was not yet diagnosed with my ADHD yet and had to overcome a lot of hurdles in my way. I worked hard and did well. I never saw a reason to give up or do poorly. I realized I had to work harder than most and set out goals to keep my self disciplined

Mathematics Literacy
I understand the foundation of mathematics and will be able to teach it from foundation phase up to matric. I achieved distinctions for mathematics literacy in matric and now I have high marks for my University subjects of 86%. I have tutored at top institutions such as kip mc Grath and my success stories just keep growing

Afrikaans
Afrikaans is a complicated language to learn whether it is your first, second or third language. It takes time, practice and patience. I feel that I can teach the language better than most. I have patience. I know all the theory and know fun ways to teach anyone the language in a fun way guaranteed that the information will stick

This is a fun factual subject to have. The best way to learn is to link it with real life experience. I will create study material along with my students and teach them how to absorb all the facts using methods suited to their unique learning style

Reading
I understand learning disabilities that may occur and what one can do to help improve. The importance of mastering the basics to become an avid reader. I have ADHD and used to find reading a tedious and tiring process. Until I was taught how to make reading fun and simple and I believe all learners should have that experience.

Special Needs Help
I come from a long line of children's psychologists and educators who specializes in remedial education. We have the patience and compassion to assist those who are really having a hard time. These learners need time patience and love. When they are able to experience learning through their body and using their minds the optimal learning will occur
