I thoroughly enjoyed physics at university and believe that mastering it inevitably refines critical thinking skills in other areas of life and provides a fundamental framework for other areas of science. While the subject matter is fascinating when understood, the actual process of learning it broadens the mind and challenges our cognitive abilities, and is a process I am always eager to be involved in.

I have completed my BEng my BEng (Hons) and my MEng in Mechanical Engineering at UP. I have three years post grad working experience in the engineering field and have presented my research at multiple conferences.

I am currently in the final year of my astrophysics degree. In every academic year since my first I've been in the top 10% of my faculty. I've also tutored students within my faculty for the university itself aswell as had my own experience of going through high school and undergrad recently so I have a good idea of how to teach students in away that they find engaging. I'm one of very few students in astronomy with a strong coding background so any student that chooses to work with me will also gain valuable knowledge on how to optimize thier work flows in physics using code. For high school and freshman BSc students this will be especially useful as you will be ahead of the curve in terms of your coding knowledge aswell as make your life a 100 times easier since you won't have to preform calculations an error analysis manually. It also prefer to build a students fundamental knowledge first as opposed to throwing problems and question papers at them, as this builds students that work smarter and are more versatile.

I have a firm grasp of the subject material required, and have experience explaining it to students. I received exemplary marks in high school and have taken further university subjects. Different students approach the subject material differently and I have experience explaining it so that it makes sense to anybody.

I obtained a distinction for Physical Science in matric and I have studied and passed both my Physics and Mechanics modules with good results in my first year of chemical engineering. On top of performing well, I do enjoy subjects involving problem solving and believe my skills can be useful in explaining Physics concepts. I also understand Physical Science is not an easy subject to grasp a lot of the time and I will do my best to help you and show you lots of patience.

Science is a subject that unfortunately can come across as inaccessible or overwhelming. However, once concepts click into place, it is a fascinating and even fun subject! I received a distinction for Physical Sciences (both Physics and Chemistry) and studied a Bachelor of Science at Wits where I did Physics and Chemistry at a university level. I love Science and want to teach this subject and help someone else love it as much as I do and realise how much fun it can be. Let me help you :)

I have always been interested in the physical phenomena that govern our world. I studied the subject throughout high school and achieved a distinction in matric. I also have taken a year of physics at university.

I currently tutor Physics to first year students at the University of Pretoria. I find physics very interesting which makes me eager to learn and teach the subject. I feel it is a very important subject to grasp because it is so applicable in our daily lives.

Born in a Christian family, I did primary and high school education including Advanced Level, My first job was a temporary High School Teacher in Mathematics, Biology, General Science, Physics before joining a rail company as an apprentice Fitter Machinist, later qualifying as a Fitter, kept studying Mechanical Engineering Technician and Diploma level, then further working as a Mechanical Draughtsman before winning a scholarship to study B.Engineering(Hons) in Industrial Engineering. I then worked in various portfolios as an Junior and Senior Mechanical Engineer as well as Projects Engineer in both rail and Mining Industry. I even lectured students at Cape Peninsula University of Technology in various Mechanical Engineering subjects for two years. I left to join an SA rail company hub in Zimbabwe which opened my horizons further regarding seeing the 'Big Picture' in Strategic Management, Business Acumen and general leadership and management knowledge, skills and attributes. The company decided to scale down operations in Zim hence I was eventually retrenched. I am an avid reader and I follow life events from political, social and economic perspective just to gain a full understanding of where our world came from, where we are and what future prospects may come in the future. I am very passionate about education and learning to the extent that I used to help students in whatever community I were to help them understand Mathematics, Science and Business Studies. I even paid fees for some poor students during my year as a Temporary High School Teacher. Since 2011 I have been involved as a Management Development Facilitator for mainly African government and parastatal employees as par of countries Capacity Building needed to champion the development in their respective countries as encouraged by United Nations, World Bank, International Monetary Fund, NGOs, African union as well as European Union apart from different efforts of individual countries of the world in fighting poverty, hunger, illiteracy, Women and Child Abuse, Curable diseases etc apart from contributing to social, political and economic development in Developing Countries. I love sport especially Soccer, Basketball, Cricket , Rugby and Tennis. I am a member of Centurion Toastmasters Club which is part of Toastmasters International which is the world's largest organization championing Communication and Leadership Development in a very friendly learning environment. I am quite a spiritual person and Christian by faith. I am a none-smoker, not into drinking beer but can take wine when relaxing. I like teaching Mathematics, Physics, Biology and Business Studies

My name is Lethokuhle Duma. I am a fourth year student, studying civil engineering at the University of Witwatersrand and I plan to become a geotechnical and/or structural engineer because of my big interest for construction, infrastructural development and the earth sciences. My interest comes from growing up in a community where infrastructure and development was lacking, it has always been my desire to learn the necessary skills it takes to implement such constructions in a community in hopes to be a part of a team which specializes in such responsibilities. My love for maths and sciences was also a major contributing factor that encouraged me to choose engineering as a career path. my other interest are design, art and technology.
